Could I ask everyone entering the GB to stick (AAGB) at the end of your thread title. This should help keeping up with updates.

This kind of goes against the thread title formats. As the build thread is in the Animale Antics GB section it is not needed at all. Its in the completed Build section that that would be a great idea.
Things that SHOULD be in the title: Builders name, Name of kit, scale and brand.
The one exception, both GB's and an ordinary build are diorama where a passable title would be the natural choice.
This applies to ALL the build sections not just the GB's (No need to add your name in the 'ordinary build' sections though...Just the GB's

This was to make it much easier to find things via the search function. To help people follow a thread we have the watch button, which not only works on a thread but also on whole sections. So if you are worried about missing the up dates in the GB just click the button marked watch at the top right on the first page of the thread/section/forum.
Quite honestly I find some of the more "inventive titles" very unhelpful in finding things and see them as verging on 'click bait'
Obviously this is going to get some peoples goat but this is just the way that the forum has been set up to keep it tidy and easy to find things in.

I am also aware that there are going to be builds that will be hard to title. Mr. Low's dino tank springs to mind, maybe for things like that, the maker should just be kitbashed.
Right then that out of the way I'm off to find my pain meds!

In general - no. However there are the odd reported accounts of captured Tigers being used for short periods after capture until they broke down or damaged beyond use. This is because they were so technically advanced it was difficult to acquire spare parts. They were also taken back to HQ for evaluation purposes.

There are however examples of companies of Panther's used by the Rusiians. Ultimately the Russians preferred the more reliable Panzers and Stugs as they broke down less and spare parts were more plentiful

Sorry to have to contradict you Mr Jones, but there is no evidence of the StuG being used by the Russians in fighting. Only a few were captured and sent for evaluation.

These are some of the passages that I based my summations on

For example, after the Battle of Stalingrad in 1943, several hundred German Panzer III tanks and similar StuG III assault guns/tank destroyers were captured. So many were available that a significant effort was made to repair and re-use them. More than 100 were rebuilt as the SU-76i self-propelled gun, with some even serving as Soviet SG-122 self-propelled howitzer vehicle prototypes. Besides Panzer IIIs and StuG IIIs, the Soviets also used about a hundred ex-German Panzer IV medium tanks and (at least) some Panther tanks.

"It is suggested to the Red Army to use such German tanks as StuG III and Pz IV due to their relability and availability of spare parts. The new German Panther and Tiger can be used until they broken down without trying to repair them. They have bad engines, transmission and suspension." - Department of Weaponry of the Red Army, late 1944.

Interesting,Sergeant John Cooper I shall have to find out more. We read so many conflicting reports about who used what and where.

I’m going to be pedantic and say that although neither of the two was officially called a “Puma”, the second one of those certainly never was. “Puma” when talking about the Sd.Kfz. 234 means the /2 with 5-cm-KwK

Well, ignorance is bliss and knowledge can be a burden. It never crossed my mind that it was only the 234/2 which was called "Puma", as Tank Encyclopedia agrees.

If "Puma" is not an official name, then no Sd.Kfz. 234 can be entered into the GB according to these guidelines, on p. 1:

There are few ‘rules’ as such but we would like to point out, proper vehicle names only please, no nicknames.

We have a great Puma build in the GB already :-/
