Scale Model Shop

SMS hyperchrome sealer and hyperchrome dark tone.

Does that mean that if you use a water base clear coat, the chrome paint could be un affected? Cool. I'll have to try that,
Just for you guv I've been doing a little test over the past few days (realistic chrome takes a long time 😫)

This is hyperchrome warm tone, clear coated with VMS gloss on the left, Alclad aqua gloss on the right.

I found it ridiculously hard to photograph but looking at the reflection of the green cloth where the two pieces face each other, none of the reflection has been lost by using a water based acrylic gloss.

Looking at an American model making website recently some posters were waxing lyrical about a product named 'Fusion Firm' Chrome.
Anyone here in the UK used it ? Any good ? Is it available here in the UK ?

I have been using C1 polishing powder (a UK product) with good effect. One simply applies the powder onto a gloss black finish and burnish it with a soft cloth or tissue.
C1 has a very nice range of automotive subject trans kits as their main product line that can be viewed on their website.
Tried experimenting in a similar fashion with S&J Aluminium polishing powder, an American product.
