Seems mechanically unsound, putting a lot of leverage on the mounting of that support bar to the fuselage. I wonder what the winch capacity was?Yes, it's a winch!
Although, why the odd shape/position isn't clear!

Totally agree Pete...Seems mechanically unsound, putting a lot of leverage on the mounting of that support bar to the fuselage. I wonder what the winch capacity was?

At least a few hundred kilos, I would guess: a rescuer plus a victim and assorted necessary kit.I wonder what the winch capacity was?
Wow Lee, look at the state of the rubber tires in that museum shot Takom have included in the release note….definitely one for the super detailers there…..

That’s a really nice vignette, but what’s a Herbert like him doing in first class.
Are we you currently wearing a hooded waterproof garment , by any chance,Tim...?That’s a really nice vignette, but what’s a Herbert like him doing in first class.. The planked internal detail is strange as well. The compartment would either be panelled in plywood or properly fitted out in mahogany.

Not right now, it’s in the cupboard……I have worn one in the past though. If I was wearing it I would also tell you that the wheel is wrong. That’s an eight spoke wagon wheel. It should be a Mansell solid wood wheel to better absorb track hammer :tongue-out3: .Are we you currently wearing a hooded waterproof garment , by any chance,Tim...?
.... maybe because the people that put this sort of thing out probably think along the lines of,"They`re only Military modellers,they won`t notice,or know about,these inaccuracies,so it doesn`t matter". .......?Not right now, it’s in the cupboard……I have worn one in the past though. In all seriousness, if anyone put out a military kit with those sort of pretty major inaccuracies it would be noted, so why not a railway carriage?
More likely it’s just taken from half remembered imagination Andy.……could also be that the sculptor wasn’t British and that this was the normal practice in their home country. British railways of the time were relatively plush compared to some countries..... maybe because the people that put this sort of thing out probably think along the lines of,"They`re only Military modellers,they won`t notice,or know about,these inaccuracies,so it doesn`t matter". .......?
..... Just a thought!:thinking::rolling: ,
Andy
