Spots on the Internet (2023)

According to an article in a 1975 issue of Airfix Magazine, it belonged to 62nd Fighter Squadron, about which Wikipedia says:
The squadron was reactivated on 1 May 1946 as a Strategic Air Command (SAC) escort fighter group, being assigned to Fifteenth Air Force at Selfridge Field, Michigan, equipped with long-range North American P-51H Mustangs that had been developed for Twentieth Air Force bomber escort missions in the Pacific Theater. The mission of the squadron was to provide fighter escort of SAC's Boeing B-29 Superfortress bombers on intercontinental strategic bombardment missions, deploying to Alaska and Europe in this role.
So the markings are post-war. I suppose that explains the lack of squadron and aircraft letters?

Those would be interesting, given the problems the Dragon kit is known to have.

Kriegsfischkutter in 1/72 - I'm assuming this will be similar to the ICM 1/350 model............only bigger!
Dave

The picture shows a Bergepanzer 2, not a Bergepanzer 3 Büffel (the 2 is based on the Leopard 1, the 3 on the Leopard 2).
The HobbyBoss site does call it a BPz 2 - but it also calls it a Buffalo, did the BPz2 have a name?
Dave

My refs call the BPz 3 a Buffel. No name found for BPz 2 on box art.

That does look interesting..........

Typical plane, that … even if it hadn’t said Fairey right above it, I would have guessed it to be either British or French because of its generally weird and not overly attractive shape :)

I rather like it myself…..

I admit it’s far from the ugliest plane of its era, but I can’t call it pretty — sorry :)

Not pretty, perhaps - first plane to exceed 1000 mph in level flight - raised the Air Speed record by 310 mph to 1,132mph in 1956 - even more surprising is that both the FD.2 survived - one is at Yeovilton, the other at Cosford
