….and Monsieur Alphonse, with his very small ‘earse with the very small ‘orse…….swiftly and with style!

On a more serious note, Miniart seem to be trying to get their money's worth out of their moulds, using various parts in different sets.

I see this morning that they have or going to issue 2 GI' s at a table with waiter as well !

Only if they have a French policeman and a few female resistance figures too
There is the French police man and the priest, I'm sure a few others can be found.

I reckon I'm one of the few people that found 'Allo 'Allo in very bad taste - a comedy about the French Resistance, with caricatures of Frenchmen, English, German soldiers and Gestapo, with terrible accents - even in the early 80's, I didn't think it was particularly funny. Now, with the series being regularly repeated even less! I wonder what the modern Frenchie, or German thought about it?
Some people used to call me a miserable b****r - maybe they were right!

Actually it was a VERY popular program in Germany. They loved it. Don't worry about being miserable. You're from Yorkshire. It's natural.

In France they dubbed it using French (obviously) using French spoken in appalling national accents…..I saw a rerun once when I was on holiday…..the British airmen in particular were superb……they spoke French badly with schoolboy accents. If it was unpopular they probably wouldn’t go to such lengths.

As to bad taste, the butt of the joke was pretty much always the gestapo and the German hierarchy. That is the best way to deal with the idiocy that is “Master race” ideology. Laugh long and hard at it……and don’t give it the dignity of taking it seriously, it simply doesn’t deserve that respect..

This is taking a distinctly Pythonesque turn - I made a mistake some time ago but I feel it quite apposite now - 'Different jokes for different folks!...' seems to apply in this instance...!

Off subject but I have very good German friends who love the Fawlty towers German episode!!

I watched 'Allo 'Allo once in Paris. I was wondering how they'd dub the gendarme into French - they didn't dub him at all, just left him speaking his Frenglish.

Just as a sheer curiosity: where is supposed to be flying that P51H?
My educated guess is over Alaska or over the Rocky Mountains (Columbia range?) because the only european glacier similar to that depicted in the upper left corner of the picture is the Aletschhorn, which is in Switzerland, even if not so far from the border to Italy (20 km as a bird or a Mustang flies).

Alaska, two of the marking options in this release are for Alaskan based aircraft.
