Hi John I think you may be breaking social distance in laws evening at 1/35 scale those parts are too close together.
Pete.
Member of of the bench tidy police department  .

John, I thought you were trying a spot the model game with us. :smiling6: My bench is no better. :tears-of-joy:

Cheers,
Richard

That's more like it! I'm always suspicious when people post pictures of their immaculate benches, with ordered rows of immaculate paint bottles, neatly arrayed tools, and paint brushes all standing to attention! I'd never post overall pictures of my bench - it's....it's.....it's like asking a man what he has in his pockets! :tongue-out3:
Dave

Shocked, totally and utterly shocked. There's space, just there, near the front, unused.

ITS JUST like mine John stuff everywhere only way I can find anything

Dear Mr Race
A copy of the above photograph has been passed to our legal dept for consideration of possible action. There is evidence that basic bench rights are being ignored. Furthermore a recent report by our scientific research group stated quite clearly that "bench disorganisation and untidiness is directly contributing to global warming". The constant moving things about in order to find a part or modelling tool generates heat which is dispersed into the atmoshere and adversely effects the ozone layer.
I also feel duty bound to warn you that you can expect a protest demonstration by BUMS (Bench Untidness Matters)
Yours
Lorne Mower (CEO TBC UK)

To be honest my bench is nearly always tidy, I spent the early part of my career working in a laboratory often working with biohazardous materials, so working in a clean and tidy fashion becomes an ingrained habit, "a place for everything and everything in its place" .

To be honest my bench is nearly always tidy,

I try and keep things under control, it works for me. This was mine about two minutes ago, as I left it before me tea.

Each to their own I suppose.

Mr Race, that desk is a thing of beauty Sir!

Empty space is wasted space in my book :smiling5:

Glad to see theres not a lot of that horrible Russian roll on deodrant for tankers, repeat tankers

4 Bo, see what i did there chaps

Working in a design office, I always had engine components, reference books, sketch pads, post-its on my desk ( along with two computers! ), it was always cluttered.................... Our CEO was always muttering about 'tidy desk, tidy mind' - I always answered 'empty desk, empty mind', he tried to impose office rules on tidiness.............. We came to a compromise - he'd let me know if we had VIP visitors, and I'd put things away for the duration of the visit..................

I love that retort Dave!

Being on the fringes of the Autistic Spectrum my mind is a chaotic roller coaster ride, always on the verge of derailing, and I like to think my desk reflects that. Once in a while I'll clear the decks but it very quickly fills with a random selection of everything and anything, and there's always one thing that I have absolutely no idea what it is, nor where it came from! :smiling5:

ITS JUST like mine John stuff everywhere only way I can find anything pic of the state of the bench but im happy IMG_5377.JPG

"a place for everything and everything in its place" .

I remember that line - from 1973!!!! :thumb2:

Hammer Horror short film - guy obsessed with tidying - his Mrs not so - invades his workspace for nail/screw or similar - she upsets everything - he flips - she plants the hammer in him - next scene pans out from a jar with eyeballs blankly staring out - wife standing in front of desk with assorted body parts in assorted jars uttering that famous line !!! :face-with-head-bandage:

Always think of that film when someone says that line!!!!

Paul.
:smiling2:

Good god Chris, you could lose the Bismarck in there:dizzy:

I PROBERLY HAVE Bob as I had some very small battle ships of waterline series so its in there somewhere lol but how it is I can just look at the exsploin of things on the bench an pick up what I want to use as jen tided it up about a month ago an ive treid my hardest to get it back where it was :rolling::cold-sweat:;):astonished:

I find the more space / room you have the even more messy you can be
,but if you clean to much ,I don,t tend to do much as I don,t won,t to make a mess,
maybe something in it, ;)
lots of spots for WIP,

To all those with a work bench you lucky lucky ........ I can make the dining room table look like JRs in a matter of minuets not hours ,bless she puts up with it for five or six days but rather than be told for my own safety I put it all back in my modeling cupboard thank the gods she's never looked in there ,mind theres a thought I wonder if the resulting avalanche would kill her if she did.......sorry got to go something I've got to do a minute

bench  ..... my knees are always tidy

can't say much for everywhere else though - tools, scratch building supplies and part built kits all over the place

a none modeller would probably say the lounge looks like the council tip - looking at it they could have a point
