Stefee's 1/24 Tamiya Castrol Toyota TOM'S Supra GT

That's looking pretty good despite all the decal problems. I'm not a huge fan of their decals either...... Certainly in the planes and tank I have done, far too thick!

Good luck with the rest of the build.

Too thick you say, that makes perfect sense regarding non conformance to the surface contours even when soaked. I shall go with that explanation instead of blaming my technique!!!!
Let's hope the 2k clearcoat can help hide the "irregularities".

They are ridiculously thick..... As people far more experienced than me can testify..... Every forum I have been on has repeated complaints about them.

Well everything that needed to be white/decaled and/ or gloss has been done. The 2k clear has helped to lessen the decal disasters thankfully.
Off into the airing cupboard, after off gassing the solvents overnight, for 11 days to fully cure whilst in hopefully sunnier and drier climes.
Probably the last post for a while but will try to follow the builds if the hotel WiFi is good enough.1000021777.jpg

Got back from holiday a week ago to some horrendous news, next door neighbour suddenly passed away and 2 hours later was told my god daughter had been found dead in her flat in Switzerland, wish I hadn't come home.
Anyway after sorting out various things decided to do a bit of modelling to take my mind off things for a while.
Prepped, primed and painted various suspension, brake and driveline parts and assembled most of the front end. Used kitchen foil to represent the heat shield on the underfloor and tried, for the first time, to heat stain the exhaust pipe - not 100% happy with it but it'll do.

Sorry to hear the bad news stefan . The build is looking great , love the heat stained exhaust and heat shield . Cheers tony

Evening Stefan,

Just catching up and saw this. A terrible way to end your vacation with this bad news. I hope some time at the bench clears your head, Sir. It certainly can't be easy right now...

Thanks everybody, it was the neighbours funeral today and my god daughters memorial service in Geneva, both were peaceful and beautiful events.
Got my daughter and husband plus 2 grand children with us from Saudi Arabia until the end of the week so no time to mope or model.

Been quite a while since I updated this build. Unfortunately another friend passed away 10 days ago then my youngest daughter had a seizure and ended up with all 4 limbs paralysed for 3 hours - taking her for neurological tests on Wednesday. To cap it all my brother in South Africa blacked out whilst driving and ended up in a lake - luckily he came round and escaped through the windows. He is OK and tests revealed nothing his VW Jetta however is a total loss.
Enough of the bad news and some shots of the chassis/interior, all OOB except mix n match seat belts and foil heat shields. Hopefully finish the build tomorrow.
