My 2nd entry for this GB kindly organised by Bob.

Another curbside Tamiya kit which will be built OOB except for the seat belts, as a single seater I believe I have enough PE to make one set. The only extra purchase was the window masks.
Yet more complex decals to apply and a first for me with the reverse tyre decals.

Obligatory shots for you to peruse.

Another classic. I was working for Toyota when these were first released. 1993 I think it was.

We never had these in South Africa, loads of boring family cars and pick ups with the occasional hot hatch. Kit is stamped 1995 so you seem to be spot on.

I shall follow with interest Stefan. I've got vague ideas of using one of these for the basis of the orange Bomex Supra from the first F&F film.

Okay Stefan, I think I answered my own question in your Subaru post. This one should be a beauty too!!!...

I remember having fun with this one

Enjoy the decals :anguished: make sure you have plenty of microsol before you start :smiling6:

I can remember being shown a few modifications to a 'boring family' saloon car in Cape Town. (Lawn mower blades on the underside - to prevent being hi-jacked!!!). The owner was quite pleased with it. He was talking about a mini flame thrower too but hadn't got around to it!!!!

Quick update.
Usual Tamiya quality and finely moulded details but found 2 discrepancies, maybe due to the 1995 mould date.
The 2 bonnet vents were rather crudely moulded however 20 minutes with a knife and sanders fixed that - on the left the kit one and on the right the fettled one.

The other problem is the moulded windscreen rubber reveal moulding is virtually non existent in the centre roof section , couldn't get an image as white is an absolute pig to photo. However the decals should draw the eye away from my attempts to paint it in, we shall see.
The front wing extensions and bonnet air vents were fitted, roll cage assembled and wheel centres prepped and erything that has to be white was primed in white and then top coated with X2. All drying now in anticipation next week of dealing (yay) and clearcoating before my holiday.

Thanks for looking in.

Well it's official, myself and Tamiya decals are not friends.
104 decals and 20 hours later the exterior is finished and so am I. About 25% of the little darlings cracked or splintered and the no. 36 on the bonnet ( and equivalent other side) have 11 decals which were absolute c**p so ended up hand painting the number and that's as much as it gets otherwise this will be the first scrapper in this GB. Hopefully the clear coat will disguise the c**k ups.
One seat belt cobbled together.

BTW. Quick competition - who supplies the oil for this 1:1 car? Hint, look at the following photos - any photo :smiling:

:thinking:nope, gonna need another clue! Lol
It's looking good.

Looking excellent stefan , despite Tamiyas best efforts to sabotage it with the dodgy decals . I love this mark of Supra and the castrol livery always looks brilliant , takes me back to when I used to race them ( ps1 - gran turismo !)

Thank you for the kind remarks, I always favoured a highly modified Mitsubishi FTO, the only one I could keep on the tarmac when I used to game.
