Surprisingly small number of parts. That scheme looks similar to Papa's Ardvaark in the US Icons GB too, so a good choice.

No Jim. This particular kit was a re release with new decals in 2013. I think its old tooling.

Too many decals for me Joe. I hate all the tiny ones and tend to leave most of them off.

Blimey, do they really need all those bloody decals, Lol!!! and in Braille scale too, I'd be leaving most of those off.... far too fiddly, but bet it will look awesome with them all on.
Bit like modern cars now, bloody warning and safety stickesr everywhere you look! Lol...

Made some progress over the last few days.
Cockpit assembled together with ejector seat. Not much detail in here they don't even give you the usual decal for the instrument panel so a bit of dry brushing will need to be done to bring our the instrument detail

next up was starting work on the fuzz assembly. Parts went together well.


I have also added the wings , tail pieces and rear horizontal stabilators



I will be displaying this with the canopy down so will probably include the pilot. Time to get some painting done so I can install the cockpit and then attach the front lower section of the fuzz.

Nice start steve , going to look great in the czech scheme. I think this kit is based on the 90s Heller tooling , Airfix went through a phase of reboxing heller stuff when they were owned by the same company a while ago. Looks a decent tooling , surprised that they split the nose cone horizontally though , most other makers have the nose cone as a single moulding , this way leaves a tricky, unnecessary seam.

Good start here, I may be wrong, but it looks like everything has gone together without any gaps. Primer will prove that of course.

Cheers Tony. Your right about the nose, not the best of designs but fortunately the fit to the top section seems half decent.
