Next up for me is this offering from Revell. Never done a Mosquito before so looking forward to this one. Ill be doing mine in the markings of 105 Squadron based at Horsham in June 1942.


There are five sets of sprues but here are just a couple as an example.

I have yet to build a Mosquito too Steve. Looks like an impressive kit, must be large at 1/48 scale.

I must admit I thought it would be bigger than it is Joe. I will put up a photo of the fuzz next to the statutory paint pot so you can get some idea of actual size.

Try putting a small piece of Tamiya tape over it Steve.
I find this helps, it reminds you it’s there so you take a bit more care of it

I find I rip the pitot off with the tape... Get some brass rod ready Steve

They are a real problem. I generally tape a small piece of folded cardboard over the tube and hope for the best. Yes I will have things on standby Joe just in case.

So I have been doing some research on my Mossi DK 292. It would appear that it was involved in a fatal crash on 26th November 1944 at Vassonville on a beach north of Le Havre, Seine-Maritime, Normandy. In view of this I have every reason to believe that it was probably marked up with D Day stripes at around the time of D Day. So as it met its end on a beach in Normandy I am going to take some artistic licence and mark it up with some D Day stripes. (Sorry to the purists among us)
Anyway some progress on assembling the parts for the office. I am not going to go crazy on detail as it will be zipped up with a closed canopy so view into the cockpit will be restricted.




The pilots seat is made up of 4 separate pieces.

The instrument panels are quite nice and will have the kit decals applied.
