Nice one steve , who doesnt love a mossie ? Iconic aircraft , and a decent size to get to grips with , cheers tony

Nice one Steve 👍

This one’s on my future to do list so I will be following along to see how it goes together.

I am taking bets on whether or not I will be able to complete the build without breaking the pitot tube off the tail fin. :):):):)
Try putting a small piece of Tamiya tape over it Steve.
I find this helps, it reminds you it’s there so you take a bit more care of it 👍

So I have been doing some research on my Mossi DK 292. It would appear that it was involved in a fatal crash on 26th November 1944 at Vassonville on a beach north of Le Havre, Seine-Maritime, Normandy. In view of this I have every reason to believe that it was probably marked up with D Day stripes at around the time of D Day. So as it met its end on a beach in Normandy I am going to take some artistic licence and mark it up with some D Day stripes. (Sorry to the purists among us)
Anyway some progress on assembling the parts for the office. I am not going to go crazy on detail as it will be zipped up with a closed canopy so view into the cockpit will be restricted.

The pilots seat is made up of 4 separate pieces.

The instrument panels are quite nice and will have the kit decals applied.

I was working on getting the rear tail wheel assembly sorted and couldn't help noticing what a strange rear wheel and tyre it has. So I did some some research and sure enough it was different from the standard tyre that we are used to seeing.

It almost looks like a solid rubber tyre but it was inflated according to AI. Never seen one like this before.

Its an anti shimmy tyre , the two ridges help to self centre a free castoring wheel , lancasters had these too .
