Tamiya 1/12 Lotus 78 JPS MkIII ya de da

HiAndrew

I'ma bit late coming to this one, I agree it is one of the best looking race cars - JPS livery always looked cool.

The build is coming along nicely, one to be proud of.

I have to say I am so far, so thank you. The engine/gearbox stuff is the most challenging because it's bits on bits on bits. If one isn't careful, just the thickness of excess paint or glue can throw the overall dimensions out by millimetres, so eventually you end up with a canopy which doesn't fit, or wheels which are askew or off camber. It's not so much fiddly as requiring a very high level of conscientiousness, even on bits which won't be visible.

Bodywork on (some will come off).

Nose was a right pain so will need a repaint to get the finger marks and glue off. Otherwise, pretty happy.

Then onto the decals. These could be tricky, they're 40 years old...

Mario "Creme Egg" Andretti makes it look quite big, but Andrettis are smaller than you remember him.

Hi Andrew
Looking good. Lovely details. The end is in sight :thumb2:
