Hi all. Picked this up off Flea-bay cheap as it had already been started. The engine block and gearbox had been glued together, which was fine, but the instrument panel and gear lever had also been installed, which might not be so fine.....we'll have to see.

So, all I've done so far is assemble a few more bits and start detail painting. I'm hoping to add add a few more details, mainly plumbing and electrical wiring, and I think I'm going to split the bodywork, fixing the front end ( as the fit isn't brilliant, and it'll save a bit of work !!) and leaving just the rear part removable. I'm also going to try and add the rear diffuser, which is strangely missing...???

Anyway, this is the work so far....

The colour on this engine looks very good.

I will follow this thread, will be very interesting ;)

Nice work on the engine so far Neil. It'll be nice to see it wired and plumbed. Definitely be watching this come together.

Just another small update. Got the air-box (?) done and on. I chopped out the small lugs and replaced them with longer stretched sprue, and added some wiring ( hope you can see it !!! ). Used some strips of Tamiya tape as the wrap around the intake trunking, which seems to have worked well. Also made small hose from the block to the oil tank.

The last few pics are a mock up of the bits I've done so far.....

Hi all, sorry for the delay, but I've been busy !! In a moment of madness ( actually after painting them and thinking they looked poo...) I was looking at getting those replacement shocks/springs from ebay, when I decided to have a go at making my own....

The pics show the results of the 3rd attempt, and in reality don't look too different from the original, just a lot neater !! ( The 1st pic shows the comparison between the kit part on the right, and my replacement )

I've done most of the rear-end now, so should be able to get that together soon.........hopefully !!

Hi all. Engine, gearbox and rear suspension all together and some plumbing added. I'm going to try and add the exhaust/turbo assembly to this as I want to do away with the slightly un-real mount on the floor assembly...fingers crossed !!

A little update, exhaust/turbo set up under way and mocked up. Although its unlikely to be seen, I filled the rather large slot in the underside of the exhaust.

Also having a go at making the underside diffuser, something that Mr Tamiya mysteriously seems to have missed out....???

Hi all. Ok, so the lower tub is complete and painted, and now the drivers tub is painted and just waiting for a few bits of pipework, etc. One of the pieces that had been done was the instrument panel, so its been a bit tricky to do anything with it. I've managed to scrape a few details, but will leave it at that. Rads painted and washed and ready for some pipes.

And as you can see, jumped in and spilt the main bodywork. The front half will be fixed and if all goes well the rear will be able to be fitted or removed, assuming I can get it to fit properly !! We'll have to see how that goes....
