So, it's finished (ah, rear view mirror is missing) OK, it's nearly finished.

The 'web' is full of reviews for this kit, all of which are extremely positive and with good reason. The engineering of this kit is something quite different. Yes it's probably the most expensive kit around, but probably worth it (only the individual can decide if it was worth the money) The engine alone is a kit by itself. The only slightly negative comment I would make is the decals are a bit too thick, but that really is a minor point.

Anyway, the pictures:

The engine cowlings have been prepared as well, but the model will be on display without them on. I have tried them in place, and they do fit. A real testament to Tamiya's engineering.

Any questions, comments welcomed.

That is just gorgeous Colin! Really well painted & finished.

Cheers

Is there any way that this can be rated as an "out of this world build"?

What a stunning model and stunning pics and even more stunning modelling. You have done brilliant unadulterated justice to the Spitfire, your modelling skills are exemplary. I salute you sir.

Also Colin, Johnny Johnson I'm sure is looking on with pride in a superb representation of his aircraft.

Everytime I look at the pics I see more things I like. The tyre tracks give previous movement to the scene as though left rudder was applied just before rolling to a stop. Bloody brilliant mate. Faultless.

However good the Tamiya kit, your build of it is even better. Cracking build throughout mate

Cheers Andrew

great job Colin, looks good with the engine show, and why not after all that work on it,very nice finish and well painted, ;)

Superb , its a true great build , you should give yourself a pat on the back colin ( well a beer would be better actually) beautiful work , cheers tony

Magnificent work Colin!

Looks really good. ;)

PS: I love the two last photos :)

Excellent work Colin you really have done justice to this kit. :)

Hope I can do the same with mine.

Superb work Colin, that is a real gem you've built up. There is nothing on that model I could fault, fantastic.

Stunning build Colin ,absolutely one of the best Spits I've ever seen! Very nicely done Sir! 5 star build and then some!

Great job done on that kit....it looks exactly like a Spitfire, and a very nice one at that!

Cheers

Steve

Great work, in some of your shots at first glance it looks real.

Beautiful work Colin. I've seen several builds of this kit online, many (to my eye) over-weathered; I really like the subtlety of yours.

Cracking build Colin I am envious mind you I would find it difficult to build such a large model in my small workshop (small back bedroom) stunning photos as well a credit to you, enjoy your beers much better than a pat on the back
