Great detail on the cockpit mate...great goings on here I think.

hi there david -- I have just done a spitfire and the green looks just right to me .. the detailing of the flight instruments is top class ... all achieved with drybrushing or how?? rgds lindsey

Firstly, thank you all for you kind words.

yep the instrument panel detail all done with dry brushing.

The seat and rear plate are from a little resin set, just gives it a bit of a lift.

Theres a small bit of scratch building just to add some extra punch on the left side under the panel.

Looing good. One of these will go nice with my 1:48 Hurricane (which I haven't built yet) So I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

Almost there update

Hello all

Here's a few more pics, it's taking a little longer as I'm doing some studying as well as my boss wants me to get my acreditations so it has to be done...

Almost there the base painting is now complete and all the decals are now on, last coat of clear has been applied.

Next will be to give it that war battered look

View attachment 41059View attachment 41060View attachment 41061

Three shots without the prop in place.

View attachment 41062View attachment 41063View attachment 41064View attachment 41065

Four shots with the prop in place but as a dry fit, I still need to put on all the small parts but waiting till I've finshed all the weathering first as I just know I'll break them off if I put them on now.

Question:

For the ariel what would work and look better

Stretched sprue?

Black Cotton?

Fishing line ie hook length line?

If you have better ideas would be most gratefull of them..

More soon (ish)

Regards

David

Thats looking great.

Regarding the ariel wire, I would say good for any of them except the cotton. After a day or to it will look like a bit of fluffy string-

Fine monofil hook link would be my first choice.

I agree with Ian... anything that cotton...

Spit is looking great

Aerials were stainless steel, so definitely not anything black; I've always used stretched clear sprue, which looks silvery in ordinary light.
