Hi everyone, it's been a while 😁

Here's one I've just finished. A nice, easy kit to ease myself back into the saddle. I hope you like it.

Very nice Andy, I really like the weathering it looks spot on 👍

Geoff.

That is a superb result. The weathering is spot on. Just completed a testing forest stage 😀

Beautifully finished andy , the mud splattering is perfection . Love the celica gt four and especially in the iconic Castrol scheme . Good to see you back building again , cheers tony

Hope you don't mind Andy but took one of your images and "AI'd" it with Gemini.

Thanks gents, I'm glad I can still turn out something acceptable after a long break.

Great model Andy, it's been said a few times already, but that dirt looks amazing, well done sir. Cheers

Thanks guys.

I tried to replicate the dirt by spraying Mr color dark earth from the underside as if it were being thrown up by the road surface and tyres, as in real life.

I then turned the pressure right down so that the airbrush threw speckles, like larger splashes.

Then I repeated the process with a darker shade, keeping it more focused to the lower areas.

Very nice Andy, as others have said the weathering is spot on.

......excellent result, and thanks for the method....

That Sir is excellent. The whole thing is unbelievably realistic. I like the mud effect.
Have you ever tried to spray weathering powders through an air brush. You need a good size nozzle and I wouldn't use your best hissy stick. it does put a good build-up of mud down.I normally mix it with matt clear. Gloss works to for wet gloopy mud. lol 😂

Thanks Ian!

No, I've never tried spraying powders. Sounds like a good way to make a mess though 😂

I actually tried to make it look more dirty than muddy, since Monte Carlo is primarily a road / tarmac event, but there's still plenty of muck thrown up.

I use the Vallejo powders as they are nice and fine and when mixed with some mat varnish they dry to a nice flat dusty look. just give it a quick pass or two and you get a nice heavy dust. Give is a more concentrated blast and you can build it up into a nice thick layer.
