Had a ball with this one, lovely to build, and, as a newbie, loads of potential for trying out weathering techniques. As stated in another thread, I have embraced oil washes! The time span it opened up, led to a much more relaxed and enjoyable paint job. Very satisfying to have completed this with home-made washes and mud. Would recommend this model to anyone, beginner or expert. No issues whatsoever, and a good size for those with sausage fingers like me!

Remarkable John after such a short history of building.

Thanks folks - agree about the base / board, I'm really going to have to bite the bullet with this! I shall sniff around the dioramas postings and try and get the flavour!

A very nice job there John. And it is British! yeah.

Really nice, John. The weathering enhances it a lot, without ever being overdone.

I was thinking about making a real rat, I've seen a few documentaries showing tanks in an unrecognisable state, which makes sense when you think about it. But, discretion got the better part of valour, and I decided to quit while I'm ahead! I wanted the chipping to look realistic, and Im not sure the photos show it. So, it very nearly became overdone!!

Great result. I think the tools on the back are a nice piece of detail.

I can only add to what's already been said & agree that's a lovely Churchill John!

As with all weathering less is best until you get more confidence then you can try that bit more each time. This is a cracking model and if you have learned what you want to do better next time you can mark it down as a great success! The weathering has worked really well and produced some very realistic effects.
