discussion Tamiya diorama sheet

I was in Hobbycraft earlier and saw that Tamiya have released diorama sheets, I've not seen or heard of them before.
They are A4 in size and have different finishes, brick, cobbles, stone parquet flooring and blocks in to fan shapes! They're £5 a sheet!
Anyone had any experience with them?

I have a set of the stone parquet flooring and blocks in to fan shapes which I bought in Shizuoka back in 2017. Haven't tried using them yet...had forgotten about them. Thanks for reminding me.

They've been about for some time now ,bought the cobbles thinking to use them but didn't really kinda scale out with a 72nd on them they just looked that little bit to big ,funnily enough I recently had a cupboard clear out it helped feed the recycling bin. Nothing to experience really cut to size shape glue to base/ plinth embellish with what ever suites the sheet ie brick rubble/dust and paint its just a sheet of plastic. Dave

I have the ''stone paving'' sheet I bought a long time ago for a project I still haven't started.
It appears to be really good , the stone has a slight ''flock'' feel to it , the mortar is plastic. 2016 , £1.99

I was tempted to get it but thought too much for what it is then again it's Hobbycraft prices!

Not tried them, but have tried other types of the same thing, both in paper, card and plastic. Fairly easy to use, and need more work t,o make them look realistic. These look very monotone and grey. They would certainly need repainting. To be honest, these sort of embossed papers have been around since Pontius was a pilot.

You're quite right about the texture. My stones are in an olive green. More suited for courtyards than roads.

My idea , which i am still thinking about was to use as a stone wall with a hidden door in it , attaching the tamiya panel to some artists board and cutting out the irregular shaped door , and making a hinge mechanism , like a ''haunted house hidden door''
