My completed Tamiya 1:16th Scale German WW2 Elite Infantryman figure.

Very enjoyable build, no issues, all went together as it should, easy to paint. I'm slowly getting a (little) bit better everytime I do one of these.
Here are the completed pics and a link to a short YouTube video.
Cheers

Nice work on the camo
Cheers, you know I don't hang about, Lol! I'm already scouting the stash to see if I can squeeze another one in before the Tamiya GB starts.... :)
The camo was a bit bright to start off with, but I toned it down a bit with some shading, weathering and then the final matt coat also toned it down a bit more.

I concur

If I may minor critique, eyes might need a bit of work. Only that he's not looking down the MP40
There are many, many ways of cheating with eyes tho'
Yep, thats cos I did the eyes with the head off, then obvs when I put the head on, the eyes did not line up with the gun barrel, Doh! Silly schoolboy error, (another one) but every days a schoolday, etc.
My excuse could be that he's keeping an eye out, sideways, for Johnny English coming up on his flank..... or summit!
I'm not messing with the eyes now, as I will b*gger them up if I try....but I'll know for next time....

Decided to take some better quality pics.
The initial final pics (above) were taken with my bog standard (Motorola) smart phone, which although the photos are ok, they do not really show up the little fine details and always seem a bit washed out, and loses some of the colour, etc, IYSWIM.
So, I got out the Nikon D3300 and the macro lens for some better quality close up pics. See below....
Cheers

Definitely looks better with this camera
Smartphones are over-rated!

Fun idea with the trio, that only the main guy has noticed something amiss while the other two have a little chat! I do like the tankie

(And being an old figure modeller/painter, I still think of 120mm rather than 1/16! Or my go to scale of 90mm. Though I do do 1/8 figures... Hmm, I'm inconsistent with nomenclature)

Smart phone cameras are ok, ish, but for more detailed, better quality pics, you can't beat a decent "proper" camera IMHO.
With the smart phone ones, the colours generally are pretty washed out, you can't see all the different colours in the pea pattern camo, the brown leather straps on the ankle gaiters don't show up, the highlighting to the clothing creases don't show up much, lots of the small details and highlights get lost, etc, etc. But sometimes its just easier, faster to whip out the smartphone, than it is to get the Nikon, (check the batteries as I sometime don't use the Nikon for a while and the batteries get low), put it on the tripod, get the macro lens out, fit the remote switch, etc, etc. Whereas the phone is always out, close at hand, ready and easy....

People ask me why I don't even have a mobile, let alone a smartphone
In the last thirty years I would have needed a mobile exactly twice. This laptop is bad enough for dragging me back on teh intrawebs!

Of course, when I use my Canon for photos on here, the number of times it's so bright I'm out of focus... And then I post the pics blown up so big of my mini-MiGs, so many 'invisible' flaws show up!
