That's a really "famous" kit. Can't be many who haven't seen it built. As Tony said though there is so much potential for a different look. Love the way this is going. The chipped back paint job and all your add ones. Gonna look the business.

Oh bugger , thanks for pointing that out mark . Something like that would be obvious to a regular armour builder ( ie. not me !

Wheels on and I started to add all the gubbins . The various bags / water bottles , machine guns have had straps added , made from microporous tape - painted and cut into thin strips . All the crap thats going in the back has been painted up and I made another camo net roll with the bias binding .
The Vickers K machine guns have been painted and built up , sighting posts and gunsight made from toothbrush bristles and a bit of etch from the spares box ( think it was left over from the Lavochkin la7 build - a wheel centre or something but it looks like a gunsight so hey ho !)
The kit would have you attach the sand plates straight onto the spare wheels with no apparent means of support ! I decided to fit them behind and made a couple of straps as if they were fastened to the jerry can frame , the shovel being fastened to the plates with another strap.

After Marks timely reminder I’ve managed to add ten handles to the jerry cans , the three on the bonnet luckily not being seen . The actual Jeep is done now apart from adding the machine guns and steering wheel , which will be done after the figures are fitted . Speaking of the figures , they have been test fitted and both had to have a little surgery ! The feet on both have been sanded right down and they have both had a bit of liposuction on their bums . They now fit better - the stumpy feet wont be seen under the dash thankfully .
It was now time to get them in primer but how to hold them for painting ? Only one rather painful looking option i’m afraid !
