Seems funny how we modellers try all manner of techniques to get that perfect tyre/rim line demarcation, unlike the troops who use the real things day in day out. My efforts don't seem that bad now

I guess it comes down to factory fresh versus field paint.

I think you hit the nail on the head Joe, in the field , your boss is not going to say watch the rubber you can not get paint on that ; lol,

yes your right Aaron, i do use them as well when I remember to do it in the right order

I would have thought any over-spray on the rubbers would crack and flake away due to the flexing of the rubber as the wheel turns due to the weight of the tank.

I would just say that if you are building the kit factory fresh keep the paint on the wheel and off the rubbers.

If its in the field its going to be weathered up anyway, so..... who will know. lol

I would say the bigger sin is getting the rubber colour on the wheel rim... that will stick out like a black cat in a snow field.
