"The Few", Small tribute to the pilots who flew in the Battle of Britain.

Hi all, i've been at it again with wings. This time the Hawker Hurricane from Academy in 1:72 scale, this is a little special because i had a spare electric motor that fitted inside. Made sure it worked ok then built it up as per the instructions with two wires sticking out of the back of the fuselage, they did help with the painting though. Again painted with the brush because of the scale, the base is just tall enough to fit a AA size battery under it.

Well, i hope you like it as much as a did building it.

Have fun,John

great stuff john , super base too. Nice to see a spinning prop, and the figure is excellent. These academy 1/72 kits are superb value for money arent they, plenty of bang for your buck as they say (?!! not round here of course! more like " tha gets thi moneys worth dunt tha!) keep on having fun matey cheers tony

What a cracking model John. The pilot looks really good. Any chance of a few pickies a bit closer my mate?

Cheers,

Ron

That looks superb John, a really great looking scene. The spinning prop is a great touch and the pilot is very well animated, looks stunning.

Thanks lads it was a joy to build up and weather, oh and i forgot to mention, the canopy is scratch built from clear plastic sheet as the kits canopy was a little too thick to fit over the fuselage. The pilot is from Revell, you get alot in the box and are excellent. There's enough to fill a bomber. Ron i've added some more pics mate, i've tried to got closer.

Have fun, John

Very nice, lovely model. Very appropriate in this 70th anniversary year. Those that gave their lives may remain forever young but the survivors are a dwindling band today.

On this day in 1940 RAF volunteer Billy Fiske became the first american combat death of WW2. A reminder that whilst Britain and her empire may have "stood alone" there were men from all over the world fighting with us.

Cheers

Steve

I glad you like it that much to give five stars, all i can say is thanks. Yes Steve, it's appropriate for the 70th anniversary and very nice words you've wrote, i think it's why i did it mate. When i was a kid i built aircraft but as i got older went onto tanks and forgot how much fun building the little kits was, and as Tony said "these Academy 1/72 kits are superb value for money, plenty of bang for your buck". I just need to see there Spitfire and i'm having it lol.

Tony (Yak Face) nice to see you back me old mate.

Have fun, John
