The Motorbike Thread

Always liked bandits......just straight forward no nonsense bikes that still look good....why dont any of the japanese makers do any thing similar today?.......styling as gone down the pan in my opinion

It's a terrific bike honestly, just keeps going and going and going. If in the unlikely event it went down I'd go straight out and get another. Just incredibly straightforward to ride. Agree on the styling, some shocking stuff out there. That said, the whole industry is on it's knees atm, look what nearly happened to KTM recently.

that was my mk 1 from back in the day

The one thing i hate on current stuff is the awful silencer design.....spoils everything else

Yeah agree, they were a bit ungainly looking weren't they, too long for the proportions of the bike. Thankfully mine had the Black Widow can on it when I bought it. Love that silver paint job on the engine bay. Are you still riding now? What are you on?

Gents,

Please excuse the quality of these photos, but I took these shots at Catalunya in 2009. The first is from early in the race where Casey Stoner was still keeping with the two factory Yamahas, with the Repsol Hondas of Pedrosa and Dovizioso not far behind. The second shot was taken on the slow down lap after Rossi's famous last corner last lap pass on Lorenzo to take the win.

Next day I rode home with the wife on the back and just one overnight stop to be back at work on the Wednesday. These days the prospect of back-to-back 500+ mile days is somewhat less appealing.

Nick
