All these wonderful motor bikes ,may be my motorbke era was not great but you can debate that forever.
Back in 1978 i need transport to get the 5 miles to work (i used to cycle it)
So i bought a cheap Honda "monkey bike" it was time time of the SS50 and FS1E, then i bought a new Honda125T , remember 'comstar wheels' .
Passed my bike test was going to have driving lesson but instead i bought a Honda 250RS single pot, nice bike .
Then i had to reboot my life so sold the RS250 but a few weeks later i found out i could have kept it
With a few more minor changes to my life i had only what was cheap ish
Honda CB200 (Tthank heavens for my parent neighbour he re built the engine and resprayed it ,it was good servant.
Then i had a Kawasaki Z250 i like that bike alot, then came my first 2 stroke a Yamaha RS 200 iwas all i could afford but another good servant .
Was within a a few day of buying a Honda CX500 , but bought a house instead
That was it ,i passed my driving test ,had kids running a car was expesive enough
Wind the clock forward to 2011/12 we need two form of transport so i bought a Gilera 125 it had been abused ,my wife cousin resurected it for me.........but now want a motorbike ....... midlife crisiis
Along came a Yamaha Virago 535 a heavy lump but great fun . Going to work i had to allow an extra 30 mins or so to get the bike off the back yard etc so i bought lighter scooter an Apriila Leonardo 150 an awesome runaround ,when i went to look at it the person i bought it off had a aura about him, all good, so it turned he raced bikes in the 60s cos on the Aprrilla he had replace the original shocks with Italian ones
So after 18months bought bikes went only need one form of transport so that it
I did think about buying a British bike when i had a second midlife crisis !!!! and what if i had been born earlier !!!!
I look at roads and other drivers etc etc ,but i smile when i see a Norton Commando or a Triumph Bonneville or a Honda 400/4 ,250 Supdream ,Suzuki GS850 , Honda Goldwing , BMW RT1100, Harley Davidson Electraglide or a Van Veen OCR 1000
Sorry if i bored you
Safe biking
