here are nine questions that I doubt anyone can get them all correct , I got four right and I'm trusting you to stay out of Google :D

There are only nine questions.

This is a quiz for people who think they know everything!

I found out in a hurry that I didn't. These are not trick questions.

They are straight questions with straight answers...

1. Name the one sport in which neither the spectators nor the participants know the score or the leader until the contest ends.

2. What famous North American landmark is constantly moving backward?

3 Of all vegetables, only two can live to produce on their own for several growing seasons. All other vegetables must be replanted every year. What are the only two perennial vegetables?

4. What fruit has its seeds on the outside?

5. In many liquor stores, you can buy pear brandy, with a real pear inside the bottle. The pear is whole and ripe, and the bottle is genuine; it hasn't been cut in any way. How did the pear get inside the bottle?

6. Only three words in standard English begin with the letters ' dw' and they are all common words. Name two of them.

7. There are 14 punctuation marks in English grammar. Can you name at least half of them?

8. Name the only vegetable or fruit that is never sold frozen, canned, processed, cooked, or in any other form except fresh.

9. Name 6 or more things that you can wear on your feet beginning with the letter 'S.'

I'll give the answers by pm :)

2. Niagara Falls. 4. Strawberries. 5. It is grown in the bottle. 6. Dwarf, dwarves, dwarfism, dwell, dwelling, dweller. 7. Full stop, comma, colon, semi-colon, apostrophe, hyphen, exclamation. 8. Lettuce. 9. Shoes, socks, slippers, stockings, skis, sandals.

Id rather stay quiet and be thought a fool than to speak and dispell all doubt.

I will agree with rickoshea's answers and for question 3 add, asparagus and Globe artichoke

I got them all but I am a slow writer :P

Just number one. I would say boxing. But then what happens on a knock-out. So that may not be correct.

As for number one, twenty odd years ago I took part in a Marlin fishing competition (an official UK championship) to which that definitely applied. I'm not sure that's the intended answer but it's a right answer :)

BTW my best fish was a mere 112lbs, we nearly tagged and released it as that's a borderline 'keeper', so needless to say I didn't win!

I don't do this any more, quite apart from my serious ethical concerns, life, children etc meant that I couldn't afford to do it even if I wanted to.

'92 was also the year I finally decided I was too old to carry on playing Rugby :)

Cheers

Good answer is fishing as I suppose it could fall into the category but the point of you bait hooks to catch fish men's there's a posabilty of the outcome so it's not the correct answer I'm afraid :)

Rock, Paper Scissors, lol there is a world meeting, weirdly!

as well as strawberries you have Pine berries, these are the reverse of strawberries with white flesh and red seeds, and taste of pineapple :) , go on look them up if you think I'm making them up, I grew them a few years back

celery, never see that frozen or in a tin :)

That's all I know/guess/care :) Delete where applicable :)

I have been to and fished in a good few fishing matched and NO ONE knows who the winner is until the last net is weighed. In my mind its a correct answer.

There are more than three words in the English language that start with Dw. I think Rick proved that point.

I had a Brussels sprout in the garden once that reappeared three years in a row, does that count.

Cant recall ever seeing a train-spotters National or world championships

Angling in its various forms can most definitely a competitive sport. It doesn't have to be though. There were some seriously competitive people at that Marlin championship. I was just there to have a good time!

I'm not sure how Ian's definitions apply to darts :)

Well I think you might be onto something there. Its not as if the result is known before it happens. Its not as if the result can be fixed is it... Oh hang about.

Whats that got to do with the price of chips?

Darts is a "sport" created so fat alcoholics can call themselves sports men... :P

That was a rather nice kipper you got hold of there Steve. (I bet that took a few chips!)
