Evening all.
I'm sure we've all been there when the shelves are full
.2020_4.jpg

The time comes when there is just no room left , even on the front . So the packing away into the loft was started.

The first to go was the.

Failure to get it through the hatch in to the prepared space.:cold-sweat: So took it back down stairs and stripped it down ! Kept all the figures, including some from Peter Day.These are now packed in bubble wrap for use again.
The armour and that truck are saved also for use in dio builds. The rest has gone in to the landfill bin, it's been on my mind for some time as to what I'm going to do with them all .Glad that it's done. I taken some photos to print off.

Next was the KV2 quite an early build, members from MM might well remember both of these. This went through the hatch and is going to be the families job to ditch it later .;)

Saved kits to reuse. Esp the StuG's :smiling::smiling::smiling:.

So that leaves a nice gap . Soon filled the top shelf.

The new dio will go on the left.

Finished this as well as found the cockpit.

Might now feel more like working at the bench .

John.

Agree w/Graeme. Sad to see it broken-up. PaulE

Wow Buddy,

I knew this was playing on your mind not having enough space, but I didn't think you would bin the wonderful buildings in the dio. You worked so hard and did such a wonderful job on them. I can understand it though....Still it's a shame......

Maybe you should have put it in evilbay and made a few quid from it. For pick-up of course as it would have been a bear to ship in the post....

Onwards and upwards I guess, but still a sad day.............

Allen

Evening Mr R,
Great to see the KV2 dio....that was a cracker:cool: And the street science with the two StuGs....another gem. In fact they’re all very good indeed!

Shame to do it John, but it’s got to be done to make way for the future projects.

Been doing it myself and even sold a couple on eBay ...good way of earning moggeling tokens :thumb2:

Nice models 453.

Luckily I don't have a shelf problem. Apart from a couple of my favourites, or special kits 'donated' to me by folks, when built and photographed, most of my dioramas are dismantled straight away, or if you like 'Re- cycled'.

Not much point keeping my stuff, as I get all my fun just in the making of them.

That's the only problem we have when building DIO's I've no display room so they sit in my cupboards which is such a shame.

It's the only way John - brave man! Think of all the fun you'll have refilling the shelves.

Could have sold them on evilbay for charity
Nice Idea Alan but they would have to be collected, The KV in the attic is safe.

Agree w/Graeme. Sad to see it broken-up. PaulE
Yes it was Paul but it was bothering me where to put the new ones.At least I have the photos, and the models and figures.

Allen , it was ok but the models were coming loose. I've saved several sections of the roof board. Actually feel much better, after all the fun is had in building them.

Pm later tonight.

Hi Si, yes a good ideas as Alan has suggested, but these were just too big to send and quite fragile.

Nice models 453.

Well that is the fun 570 in the building, nice to look at but when they start to get in the way.......... the axe falls !

That is the problem Mick, no good if you can't see them. The family will just dump those that end up in the attic. As for selling a lot of them are quite fragile.

It's the only way John - brave man! Think of all the fun you'll have refilling the shelves.
Peter it's been bugging me for some time, last night I made the decision just to put then out of the way, but beaten by the size of the street scene. At least your figures will make another appearance in due course:smiling3:

Do you know now those two have gone I'm not in the least bothered, I can have the photos printed and enjoy looking at them. Did the same with the jobs I did at work, have several albums of them, and always fun to look back .

John.

Spoken like a true gentleman John, I did the same with my model RR stuff. I will always have the pics to look at too....

Prost

John. One door closes another opens. Sad to see some of those early builds go into storage.

I don't like closing doors...........I can understand the need for more space but I think I would try to find a "home" for an out of date Dio before disassembling it......my mind would play hard on the amount of work that went into it. You are a Brave man JR. :thumb2:

That's the good thing Allen about the photos, I've taken quite a lot from different angles, including that picture of Stalin that was on the wall in the front room .:smiling2: Horrible man !

Thanks Lee, suppose asking as I have the photos and can see improvement I'll be happy .

Rick there comes a time when being sentimental about a diorama has to close, no more room means no new diorama's, can you imagine not being able to model !

Thanks guys ?

oh John be strong,I know this feeling oh so well,as i have to do the same thing when we,moved,
its so so hard to do,some are out in the shed, new homes for theses freaky 8 legged things and
the possums to play with, you should try and get the building off as well,be brave :disappointed2: ;)

Hi John
At least you resisted the urge to take them outside and set fire to them. The behaviour therapy and the tablets must be working.
Jim

Sad John, I remember the work you put into them.
So you you're now into demolision instead of arson...need new prescriptions of meds for the new symptom. :smiling6:

Cheers,
Richard

The problem we all face I think Moni, can't keep everything or I'd end up living in a aircraft hanger !

It must Jim, though I can sense fire involved in the lastest dio!!!!!.

Thank you Richard, yes they were great to build, learnt a lot about working in foam board, and how not to spend hrs making stone sets only to go and cover two thirds of it in rubble ! Apparent Rick has contacted matron, so that will be fun NOT .:smiling3:

Matron is on her way......... :tongue-out3:
Oh how could you, the only good think is with me having to isolate she can't come in !!!!!! Safe for another day .
