Are we getting old, Mr. Marlow??? I sure know that feeling....
Hi Andy. Yes, I do hold the golf tees. I used to blue tack the figure to the tee, but then had a brainwave. As I use coins as bases, which are magnetic, I glued magnets to the tees. The neodymium magnets hold the figures tightly enough to be painted. I have to pick coins that are steel though, the older copper based ones aren’t magnetic. Locking one hand over the other is a skill worth learning as well. It doesn’t stop the shaking, but both hands shake together so it minimises the problem. I know what you mean about weight helping. When I had a very light SLR camera I had the same problem. A heavier camera means less camera shake, at least for me.I was like Jim - I could hardly make them out in the metal, but the primer and wash have done wonders.
Do you hold the golf tees while painting, or support them in something? I have to attach small things to something heavy or they just shake around. It's like trying to paint a moving target :tears-of-joy:
I haven't quite got the hang of locking my hands together like my lad does.
It’s not the years Allen, it’s the mileage…..Are we getting old, Mr. Marlow??? I sure know that feeling....
I have EVERY confidence in your abilities Tim.... No pressure at all!!Actually the first time I’ve used black washing for a couple of years. On the brighter fantasy stuff I prefer Zenitel priming these days. Hope I don’t disappoint…..
Of course, it only works if they are gaming pieces and you mount them on coins as I do Andy…..but I’m sure you worked that bit out :upside:Thanks Tim. I recently ordered a load of small magnets for something else so will give that idea a try.

Cheers mate. Hoping to get a little more done soon. They already look good Tim!
Thanks Paul. They look very good mate.
Thanks Jim. After doing 28’s for a while I must admit they seem small to me………They already look very good Tim. Still can't get over how small they are
Cheers David. The Perry Sudan figures are very nice, I have some myself. If they are the plastics then I painted some a few years back. They can be found here…..Brilliant and informative Tim ,can't believe the detail the wash brought out ,ive some metal Perry bros Sudan figures that I bought when I thought I'd become a figure painter along with wet pallet paints etc still living in the cupboard not touched keep this up I might have to show em the light of day. Dave
Thanks Arn.….Superb stuff Tim - they look great!
