Nice finish Andy, very illuminating! Looking forward to the generator set.
Did I forget to mention that sometimes the wife is wrong, but then it's your fault!
HA!! Very good Graeme...... on 2 counts........... Mainly the "Illuminating" one!!:tears-of-joy:
The Genny is proving to be more difficult than i expected, but not insurmountable ;)

Sounds like fun Andy...........more scratchery I assume? Bring it on. Rick H. :thumb2:

Go on buddy, you’re on a roll now.....no stopping you!
I most certainly am mate...... but the only thing that can stop me is...........
....... LACK OF ABILITY!! ....:anguished:......
...... and that is certainly something i`m worried about,as you will soon see!!:flushed:

That is the best I have heard in a long time........thanks for sharing JR. If you can't hear it Andy, it just means that your wife intercepted JR's post and has censored it so it won't undermine her authority over you :tongue-out3: :tongue-out: ;) Rick H.
Yep,by now i`ve DEFINIATLEY Heard that one properly:thumb2:
.....and it`s very good!!......
As far as Rach is concerned.... i love her to bits..... and she KNOWS that i`m ALWAYS right!!;):thumb2:,

.............. I can`t believe it`s been so long since i posted on this one!!
However,i have been pretty busy with it. I must admit that i underestimated the challenge of tghe Genny cart,i thought it`d be a sinch compared to the Searchlight itself, but i was WRONG!!! :flushed: :fearful:...... (Certainly not the first time.......... and POSITIVELY not the last!!:tears-of-joy:),
ANYWAY,this stage of the build is a bit of a hybrid if i`m honest:flushed:..... i can`t call the Genny an absolute Scratch build for the following reasons:dizzy:!!......
The box section, made from plasticard an various extrusions,ROUGH i know, but will be trimmed......
Genny 3.jpg
Yeah,i know it looks awful,but it`s just a base!!
Here`s the Driving chassis(,now here`s where it goes past "Scratching") ......It`s basically the chassis from a 1/35th WW1 Truck that i didn`t complete....
Genny 4.jpg
....and i had some Jeep wheels, with Vinyl Tyres, from an unused kit......
:thumb2:
Genny 2.jpg
:thumb2:;):thumb2:
There`s the bits married up..... AGAIN..... it`ll be sorted later ;)
So then, there is more to report, but i`ll do that later,
Thanks for looking in guys, more to post soon!!:smiling2:
Andy

That's a right smart beginning on the "jenny" Andy......should make a nice companion to the search light. Rick H.

OK Then chaps...........
Here is my progress,it may not look much, but each stage has taken me a little while!! :flushed: ,
I needed to build up the frame for the Genny.......
IMG20201217213943.jpg
A bit tricky for a base modeller like me,but i cut down some arcs from 1.5 mm plasticard as frames...Then added some ULTRA thin Plasticard
to try and bend to get the finish i wanted............
IMG20201217224239.jpg
Bent over, after gluing to one side.........
IMG20201219114052.jpg
Then i added the Vent side sloping bits:smiling: And lastly, for now,the pic of ......;):smiling:
IMG20201221191207.jpg
So that`s it all together at the mo,needs smoothing out and then some, but it`s certainly on the way!!
Not as great as i was hoping so far,but the wheel chassis is coming on,and this should be ok soon!!Thanks for looking in,
Andy

If that generator comes out as well as the searchlight it will be splendid I am sure, well done with the scratchery.

Andy.

Getting there Andy. It will come together nicely once you smooth out the joins
