Dave - Yes, I agree. I was going to attack him with pastels, but the white was so hard won that I couldn't bare to cover hours of work. It's something I may add in the future when I feel more confident. I've ordered some AK weathering sets as well, mainly to work on some armour projects, but it may wok on figures.

Very nice Peter. I understand why he had that facial expression. That arrow must have hurt. Nice sculpt with the dent in the helmet. A lovely bust all round. Well done sir!

It was really scary adding the dirt, but I'm glad I did. It was done by building up layers of burnt umber pastel, killed off with a flesh-like tint. That's as dirty as he's going to get.

I have done some box art, but I do find the responsibility a bit much. This way I only have myself to disappoint.

Love the weathering, just right, not too much and certainly not "Persil" white.

I am sure it was a scary moment, but well worth it.

I would have thought your next project was ideal?

Lots of skin, which is your forte, metal work, another special skill

And a mask if the eyes aren't up to scratch.

Should be a fun day getting started with Spartacus.

Steve - Morning. I'm pleased with the way the weathering worked out. I've used pastels before, but not had much success with them. My main reason for using them here was that I thought they'd be removable, but they proved not to be, so all doubly scary.

The gladiator is very scary, not least the because of the huge casting blocks. And as you say, at least the face can be covered if that doesn't work out.

Dirtying him up was a really worth while exercise. You bit the bullet and went for it and you're pleased you did. I think the painting is superb as always but the weathering is spot on.
