Here’s another golden oldie I plan on building and make a small dio for it I’m using some figures out the old MPC airfield kit The kit did not come with a canopy I will be using a squadron aftermarket one. I’ve had this kit for over 10 years I will be adding an aftermarket cockpit, propeller and wheels hope you guys come along for the rideView attachment 321883

Hi Lee
Interested in what you make of this one. I built this about fifty years ago....with no finesse and no paint from what I remember...

Thanks guys and for stopping by I hope to finish the Brewster this weekend and jump on this.

Lee,
you don't believe in making things easy for yourself, do you? The Revell Airacobra dates back to 1965 - I was in short trousers at junior school!
Dave

Hi Lee
I'm looking forward to this. There is something quite fascinating about watching someone overcome the shortcomings of a geriatric kit.
Jim

Hi Lee,
An oldie moldy...my kind of build. Winding up my gramaphone and pulling up a chair for this one.

Cheers,
Richard

Dave I wasn’t even thought of in 1965 I came along in 1968 I just enjoy these old builds and adding the goodies to them thanks for stopping by Dave hope you are feeling better

Jim I feel the same way thanks for stopping by

Richard thanks for stopping by hope you are not allergic to mold

Nice one Lee and great to incorporate the figs in a little dio.:smiling:
Hope the old kit doesn't give too much troubles and leaves the fun factor intact.

ps. Don't forget to stuff the nose of Airacobra full of lead or fix the wheels to the base unless you want a tail sitter.:upside:

oh the memories!.....i can dimly remember doing that sometime in the very early 70s!

look forward to seeing this go together

Fernando yes that will be the first order of business I thought of that when I seen the real pictures of this plane I knew this model would more likely be a tail sitter but thanks for the heads up and thanks for stopping by

I got this kit started this morning here’s a up date I’m going to stop here till I can figure out the exhaust I think I’m going to use some aftermarket p51 exhaust outlets on it but have to make sure it all fit and looks right. I will also try to change out the cannon’s for better aftermarket ones. Yes I know I’m spending money on a kit when I could buy one with this kinda detail already but that’s what I like to do is to put the aftermarket stuff on and see if the old kit will come alive. Enjoy the pics View attachment 322139View attachment 322141View attachment 322142View attachment 322143View attachment 322145View attachment 322146

Thanks Scottie
This is a really fun build I knew it would be when I started getting the ideas and parts together. Thanks for stopping by

Right Lee, just making my way down to the front of the runway. Have my own portable seat and built in kettle.
John.

Lee, I'm quite certain you will once again turn the proverbial sow's ear into a terrific silk purse!
We await your further pleasure.
