Here’s one I’ve started and painted twice I’ve had it for several years thought I give it another go. I’m going to give it another paint job and add some Don Mills Tow Hooks and gear shift/break lever

Here’s a update. Re painted the cab/frame, Fixed the back of the fuel tank, sanded the tires, added the tow hooks and worked on the bed a little by adding more slats

Hi Lee
There is something very satisfying about making a nice model from an unpromising starter. You have to be slightly masochistic as well :tongue-out3:Looks like you have made a good start.

Jim. Thanks for the complement and stopping by yes you are so right I almost put this in the bin.

Paul. Thanks for the complement and stopping by. I was wondering if I was going to get the tires to the look I wanted. I think the slats are going to make a big difference

Nice job on the fuel tank. Remember those extra slats are the seats folded up, so will need some extra details. Built this Monogram model way back when but a tyke. PaulE

Paul. Thanks I have the seats I might test them folded I appreciate the insight and thanks for stopping by and the complement

Great start on this Lee. Remember seeing this kit when first released...couldn't afford it...ended up getting the Jeep towing the 37mm.

Blimey, 1957 first released - that explains the simplified nature of the kit

Old kits are good fun though

Simon. Thanks for stopping by. Yes that was when my oldest brother was born. Old kits are fun to mess with sometimes. This one is on the simple side but I hope by adding some aftermarket details it might become a shelf queen.

Worked on the side of the bed this evening thanks for our good friend PaulE for pointing out the “slats” I was putting on we’re actually the benches which came with the kit. So I removed the pin marks on the sides and the benches and test fitted one and I like it. Thanks Paul for pointing this out you are a asset to the forum.

Steve. Thanks for the complement. It’s starting to be a fun build I think I’m going to get some archer gauge decals for the dash this will help it more

I'm with JR on this Lee, I looked into buying a real one of these when I lived in Ca. It was a later multi-fuel capable truck. Didn't follow through. There would have been a parking problem as there was not enough room on my driveway to accommodate the beast. Rick H.

John. Thanks for the complement it’s been fun so far better that when I first attempt to build it

Rick. Thanks for the complement. My neighbor down the road had a M35 I love it

Does any one know if this is the same truck I presume rereleased years later by Monogram with the little booklet showing the diorama of it parked up full of mail sacks two guys on back handing out mail and packets to GI's gathered around the back a Shep Paine master piece

Yes, it is. That came out in 1972, so about 15 years after the original issue of this kit. Revell also put out a set with this truck and some figures as a M*A*S*H tie-in.

(See this thread if you want a copy of the leaflet.)
