Hi folks, guess where I've been for 25 days.
If you guessed in hospital dying from the C-diff virus you win the prize.
It's a virus caused by a certain anti-biotic mostly given to dental patients for an abscess tooth..
It seems that in a tiny minority of recipients it kills off most of the good bacteria in ones gut
leaving only the bad bacteria to dominate and multiply,

The result is deadly virus that nearly killed me, hospitalization was the most horrible experience of my life
and this statement coming from someone twice wounded in combat.
Then I was young and strong and though in great pain my life was never in danger.

The horrendous details of what I went through in hospital I won't bother the general forum about
but suffice it to say it was quite unspeakable at every level involving tubes and hoses
in places only Satan himself could have conceived.

Have been home for a few days now and have earned the hospital nick name of "miracle grandpa"
as few thought I would pull through.
I thought I was in hospital for only a few days but when my wife told me it was 25 days I
could not believe it !!!that's how close to death I was.

Am home now and will be on meds for the next month or so but am very weak and have
lost over 20lbs or 10kilos, glad to be home and oh yeah, ALIVE!!

Still Jim.....so far.

Thanks so much guys for your kind wishes,
I now have so many follow up appts with a whole slew of specialists in the coming months that
that I will soon be known as "road warrior Grandpa". I am told that I will probably need an FMT.
That's a Fecal Microbial Transplant which is ingesting in pill form the good microbes from a healthy sceened doner.
Children are used as their as their systems are pure and pristine. Only recently it was made in pill form otherwise
it would have to be delivered through a tube down the throat into my small intestine or through a colonoscopy.

Yeah for small miracles! had enough of those tubes in the worst places imaginable!

Thanks again for your concerns and will soon be boring you again with my abominable creations.

Love to all,
Jim.
