Hi

drawing from this picture as my inspiration …

Here's my interpretation using Trumpeter's 1:35 KV "Big Turret" and some random resin figures picked up from a rummage bin at a show...

The base is insulation foam covered in tinted plaster and the water is my first attempt at using Woodland Scenics "deep pour water"

Evening Mark.
Splendidly modelled, has just the right amount of everything to give max interest.:thumb2::thumb2::thumb2::thumb2::thumb2: Well done .

Very nicely done indeed!! A nice little Dio there.

How did you find the water. I've not yet dabbled with water but want to have a go at some point.

Hi Andrew

I used the "Murky" version of the "deep pour water" and I followed the instructions for mixing exactly ( warm the two bottles first, stir for 5 mins, cover for 5 mins and then stir for another 5 mins) - it pours easily but you must take care to seal every possible point where it might leak.

I thought I'd sealed the open end of the stream properly but some resin still leaked so I have a coating of resin about 1mm thick on the bottom of the base!

The only complaint I have about the resin is that I have a slight lip where the resin crept up the "dam" at the open end.

I left the whole thing over 24 hours before I tried to remove any of the "dam".

If I use it again I will probably try to create a closed water feature if possible.

My base is A4 sized and the water is about 12 cm by 20 cm around the tank (I raised the river bed under the tank to minimise the amount of resin but still used almost all of a pack.

Brilliant work Mark all round with the armour, the figures and the base. I do like dios based on photos and you've done a crackin job on this one

Mark , just read your mention of leaking, its a real pain when you think its well sealed. I've had the same problem took another coat of varnish to seal the base.
What was the make of "water " please.

John - the "water" was Woodland Scenics "deep pour" - One end of the "river" is actually open and I think the issue was that the sidewall I used to "dam" the flow was covered in cling-film to allow it to be removed easily and there was a crease in the film!

Next time I do water I will try to avoid open-ended designs
