Hi everyone,

I have just ventured into the world of scale modelling and have stumbled upon a question I've not been able to get an answer to.

I am planning on using a waterslide decal on a small part, and am wondering if I can place another waterslide decal on top of this (the part is a motorcycle silencer - carbon fibre decal as the base and then manufacturer's logo to improve authenticity).

Planning on finishing with a gloss spray varnish.

If anyone can give me their thoughts or some pointers I'd be really grateful.

Many thanks,

D

You can by applying the first decal, letting it dry then coat with a layer of clear varnish and repeat the process with the other decal. The varnish helps to seal and protect the first decal from agitation from the water and decal solutions applied in the next process.

Many thanks - I'll give that a try.

No problem...would like to see how you get along with it. The thin coat of varnish is also a process I use to protect the paint work and decals before applying washes and weathering to my models and welcome aboard Unrapid.

Tamiya roundels are often two part the central dot being the second over the outer circle and the white ring. Placing decals over each other is ok
