Hey Jeff

That video was of three Vickers VC10s that carried out a retirement flypast at Brize Norton. Two C.1Ks and a K.3 toured several RAF bases to mark the end of the types usage in the transport role. You wont see that line up again.

Not yesterday but today I've had a Curtiss p-40f and a Spitfire MK XIV...... Nice! That griffon engine purred like a very happy cat. Unfortunately these practice flights mark the last airshow of the season here in Duxford as its the Autumn show tomorrow BOO HOO!

Regards

Chris

Just a few days ago I was surprised to see a graceful Dragon Lady - U2 - letting down from the west, presumably towards Fairford. I was about 4 miles north of Cheltenham. I didn't realise they are still using these old ladies - presumably they are now doing mainly atmospheric and environmental research. Anybody know what they're doing these days?

I heard the rumble of twin radials and ran out just in time to snap a quick shot then it flew back the other way and gave me a second photo op!

Well not quite yesterday, it was actually Saturday 1428 when the BBMF DC3 flew very low over my house in a southerly direction. It looked amazing with its invasion stripes.

Still in use but very elusive.

There is 1, possibly 2 based at Akrotiri Cyprus, but they only tend fly late at night or very early in the morning!

Although if you should enquire about them, they are not there!

Yesterday, 7th July, a Yak 3 flew over. Well I think it was, Russian stars under the wings, nice and noisey. Although I did need the help of google to ID that one.

Sat in the garden yesterday to be scared out of my skin by the roar of the red arrows flying over the house.

Ah your in the know, I didn't know that until I saw it on the tv.

Some bloody noise though, nice to see.

An Antonov AN2 biplane just flew over Southend Airport where I'm at work today. It headed north ish .So my guess is its off to Duxford.Never seen one before.A bit slower than the Easyjet A320's than fly in and out of here!.

Soon to be a very rare sight in our skies.
Yes indeed very sad. I suspect the Sea King would beat the more modern but lighter weight Helis in high winds.

Let's just say it was the Flying Legends Airshow at IWM Duxford at the weekend so not only was I there on the Saturday but whilst sitting in a pub garden in the village and then in my own later on Sunday I got to see it all over again. Some truly amazing sights. I have to say I have never seen such an unusual aircraft flying in such a manner as the Storch!!!

I'm a lucky boy so I am.

Strictly speaking not yesterday (June19th to be exact) First time Ive been in for a while.

The BBMF Lancaster heading towards RAF Cosford. Really surprised at how large it was and the noise ....

I live in the vicinity of an RNZAF aerodrome in Auckland and we get regular traffic overhead. C-130H Hercules and P-3K Orions make up the usual traffic. Yesterday a C130 was doing circuits, nice and low over the house. Made the cat run!
