Yeah had that a few times. A certain ex Beatle called Paul used to wave at us in a non too friendly fashion when we used to fly over his domicile on the Mull of Kintyre. Until one day our CO answered the phone and reminded him we only did low flying 'that' low when engaged in SAR.
Had many a local of Ayrshire asking us to over fly their houses too!!

LOL! That doesn't surprise me in the slightest. Personally I'd love to have more regular flybys!

Had the Moth fly over again today... pic quality is poo but you can see what it is.

I remember that the next time I see an A400M flying at less than 500ft up the Conwy river/valley lol! (never when I've got my blooming camera!)

I heard a great story years ago, when I bloke I worked with (when I was an aircraft Engineer at Turweston Aerodrome in Bucks) told me his daughter had rung up the station Representative at RAF Lyneham to 'complain about the very low flying C-130 that just went over my house'. Apparently the chap apologised, saying that it was doing an emergency go-around, and she said ' No, No, you don't understand, can you get him to do it again as I didn't have any film in my camera!' LOL!. To be fair, she was an aviation photographer that used to do shoots for magazines and books etc.
They go over my house at about 750ft Arnold, but as I’m at about 450ft to start with that makes them pretty low……impressive, but very noisy.

Back in days of old, the Falcons used to play 'War of the Worlds' to jam ships sensors. Hunters played the part of simulated missiles!!

Hi chaps.

This post is deadly serious and as such I would appreciate it if any members wishing to add to it refrain from sarcastic and 'P' taking replies........Thank you.

At 20.45 hrs last night, my wife and I saw 'Something' fly over our place, travelling due south at about 40mls/hr at a height of 100ft. and a distance from us of a couple of hundred yards.
At first I thought it a 'very' large bird of prey. Then it assumed the shape of an upturned brick.

As I was already looking at birds in our garden, I managed to grab my bins' and just for a few seconds watched the thing before it went behind some trees.

I can only describe what we saw as a modern day fighter pilot sat in his ejector seat. There was no noise and it had no visible means of support (a para-glider thingy for instance)
It looked like a flying seat!

That's it. I haven't the inclination to look on the web, but if anyone on here knows or has heard of such a 'machine' I would love to find out just what we saw.........

As it wasn't a figment of our imagination I would really like just sensible and constructive comments only please.

Thanks.
Ron

Fraid the only thing I could come up with is a para-glider who's 'wing' possibly blended into the colour of the background?? We get a fair few around the island. They're the only thing I could think it was as they have a seat style arrangement below them!!

Something like the Jetson One manned drone perhaps?

I would imagine that to be quite noisy though.

What is your rough location? FlightRadar has a function to look at air traffic at specific times. I can have a look.

Balance is the key, ya? Lol, that is pretty cool and I'd love to have one in my garage.

Up in my neck of the woods we get the F18's from the coast making their canyon runs over Lake Roosevelt close to the Candian border. If you're not paying attention to the flight times, they can scare the snot out of you when they make their low high-speed passes. We've been caught off guard many times, HA! But boy howdy, it's a real hoot, regardless!

I had come up with the idea that it was a very clever balloon someone had acquired and simply let go aloft for pure devilment, but that is just plain daft - Isn't it?

Jack.
Halfway between Chester and Wrexham. The thing was flying North/South @ 20.45 hrs.

Andy. The pilot was deffo. in or on a seat or a platform. I only had but a few seconds to see it.

Doug. This could be it, or summat very much like it. It comes mighty close to what we saw. Nice one.

Thanks to everyone for your input. All well appreciated. :thumb2:
