discussion What goes bang just after the warranty runs out?

Answer = My Lap Top.

Hi all, i'm back up and running with a new lap top. Had to save up for it thats why i've not been on, my phone goes on the net but i can't use it with my fat fingers. My old lap top's cpu fan decided to retire and cook the lot, i now have an Acer but more importantly, i'm back on the net.

Have i missed anything? What GB are we on? It looks like i have some catching up to do.

Hello Mate, was wondering where you had gotten to. Shame about the the laptop. I have had the same thing happen to me last year. Not only just after the GT ran out but also just before Back up!!!

Good to see you are sorted again. If I remember correctly the GB plan is a stick in the GB fora.... But I think we are in WWI GB and Crashed SIG And No you can't post a picture of your laptop and post it as crashed! LOL.

I was lucky Ian, i did managed to back things up (so i still have my photos). I'll tell you what though, a cooking cpu doesn't smell nice :badcomputer1:

No crashed lap top, you no play fair lol

The lap top is the only product that I took out a monthly insurance on, I think I pay about £7-50 a month. That covers me for every repair and an annual check. In the years Ive had it I have had the lap top replaced not to mention numerous repairs. Like I say I dont normally succome to these insurance deals that you get offered with certain products but the lap top is one i wouldnt be without.

Never had this happen to me ---------- yet.

But had a Commodore 125 years ago which did over heat on a hot day. But clever it shut itself down. Annoying but not annoying enough to be costly.

Does this mean that a PC with a fan defunct will not close down or at least warn ?

Had it happen on me with a desk top computer and i got it in time, but my old lap top the fan was so quiet i didn't have time to think when it started to smoke. I'm loving this new Acer though, i can play Sims 3 no problem so i'm happy.
