We all have a build or paint job that we intend to finish, but it keeps getting pushed back to the end of the to-do list....whats yours?

My own is 2 built collections of figures. The Japanese waving men that came with the "Zeke", and the WW2 British ground crew that sits

watching me work on something that always takes priority. (apart from the pilot thats been long since finished).

I have two that i want to finish next. They are a 1/48 Bf110 G4 and a 1/48 Ta154

I have a 24th scale toyota celica, and starships Uss voyager (mostly painted) and Uss Defiant (not even primed) -all going on 3 years or more of inactivity. I seem to be more in a WW2 history phase at the moment, that's probably the reason...

I have a DC kits Class 303 Electric Multiple Unit that has been parked for a while. I think I started it in 2003. I've built the underframe and bodies but when it comes to cutting out all the acetet sheet for the windows I get the heebiegeebies. Built for the Glasgow network I was going to do it in the Strathclyde Orange & black livery but cold feet at the thought of all that lining work and repainted it in plain blue. And that's where it's been for the last two years.

Personally I have 'problems' with the dioramas....

The past one I need a year aprox...and for this one I will overcome the year, calmly....

And I have a viking figure (white metal)....well....someday...maybe ;)

I try to only build one kit at a time, to stop this happening, however recently there is now a 1/35 German train and a Zvezda KV-1 on the bench.

I know that there is a King Tiger sat in a box in the cupboard waiting to be completed. I think it was due to the fact we were moving house that it got thrown back in the box and has never been pulled out since ..................

Note to self - try and make more time to build ............ha ha

For me it's basically all my current WIP's. I have had some workshop limitations imposed on me for the last 2½ years, due to the sudden appearance of a little boy, that seems to be frightfully effective at occupying floor-space.

Once we manage to find a house within our financial limits that can offer the room for a workbench, I'll be back at it finishing a 1:25 Chevy Nova, 1:48 Citroen DS, and 1:72 SPAD XIII.

I used to run along the same lines as Andy and only have one on the go ... i.e. buy it and build it.

however I've fallen into the "stash" trap and bought a few kits in a sale and from charity shops which has messed that up.

anyway, to answer your question Danny, i have an Ark Royal 1/600 built sitting in it's box waiting for me to get brave enough to try a water dio, and i have the 16ins x 28ins M*A*S*H diorama sitting on the top shelf that gets little bits done to it as and when i have new ideas.

I have a 1/72 scale HMS Bluebell that has been drydocked on my bench in at least two years. Maybe even three. I just went cold on it after one of the then kittens ate bit the bow mast to bits and had a good go at the main mast!!!

It will, errm, need a bath before I can continue.

The funny thing is there is not a great deal that needs doing. Life boats and DC racks need mounting, the bridge needs fixing and the hull needs painting. Then its just the rigging!!! :-/

I have two scratch build 1/500 type 22 frigates that have been sitting on the shelf for a long long time, similar to IanM the parts are made, most of the painting done, motors & servos in and still they look on as I tinker away at other things.

One at a time for me. My problem is that work intervenes and that means being away from home. Usually I build whilst "resting" as we like to call it,which means I can devote time to a project and am a relatively fast builder. If a job comes up the model gets temporarily abandoned!

My Hummer is in such a state of limbo at the moment, but it will only sit for six or seven weeks.

Years ago I started a Revellogram B-17 and then embarked upon a seven month world tour before returning to complete it. I think that is prbably my longest build in the context of the original question.

Incidentally I've never not completed a model, though a few have come perilously close to a brief final flight in the direction of the dust bin :)

Cheers

I have a 1:35 Academy tiger with the full interior sat lying about for the last 4 years that needs finishing and an Esci Zundapp that needs finishing that I started over 20 years ago.

A 1/16th T34/85 that has been screaming at me to finish for longer than I can remember, but I always seem to have some thing else that needs doing before I get to it. :hmmm:

I have my Tamiya Lancaster still on the go, I spent more or Photo etch and resin bits than on the kit and now I'm too scared to muck it up, lol its into its 2nd year now

Been working on the 1/16 full option late version Tiger conversion for about 2 years now. But looking to finish it this week. Really looking forward to seeing this beast finished. The paint work is finished and I'm now on with fun part of detail painting. Should be a good week off at the bench!

Cheers

Like Andy and Colin I try to have only one kit on the go at any one time, but............. I've opened a real can of worms with the non tracked armour dio I'm having a go at.

First go at a wheeled vehicle, first go at figure building and painting and only second go at a proper dio base, and at the moment everything has come to a halt while I figure out what to do next.

I tinker, but no concerted effort.

Also, at the moment, I'm having a go at building and painting some citadel figures to practice figure building and painting.

So the Jackal and soldiers are on the back burner for the time being.

Tony.

I had only my Phantom on the go, but I have supplemented it with another Hawker Hurricane. Work gets in the way for me too, and as it is shift work, I don't always feel like building when I am tired or recovering. I do bursts, and while the enthusiasm is high I go for it.
