What's on the bench 2022

Paul and Rick,
For the poor demented and non-unitiated amongst us - when using trucky language please direct us to a suitable translation service! Many thanks!
Stefano Dementia :anguished:

Stefano,
Its name, 'CCKW,' comes from a GM vehicle code system. “C” – Year of design (1941) “C” – Conventional cab (engine in front of the driver) “K” – All-Wheel-Drive. “W” – Dual wheel rear axles. ROCO had identifying numbers for their 1/87 scale military models, early CCKW types were in the 100 range & later, much improved versions were in the 600 range. Also known as "Jimmy deuce and a halfs" or just "ducenahafs". Their load capy. was rated 2 1/2 Ton off road & 5 Ton on hard roads. I use the 600s where I can, but the 100 series is easier to convert to Engineering specific multi-purpose trucks & offers purpose built dump trucks so I use the 100 series CCKWs exclusively for engineers & 600 series trucks everywhere else. You may hear us refer to Corbits or Brockways or Whites or 6x6x6s. These are long & short wheelbase, three axle all wheel drive 6 ton trucks. IHTHs.

Couldna' sed it better myself!.....hope you dint confuse the poor guy Paul......just horsing around Steve, ;) Good thing you asked.....I could tell Paul was ready with a quick answer I would have had to wiki it up and give it to you one bite at a time. :thumb2:

Thanks Paul and Rick,
A clear, concise and erudite explanation! Thanks again, you've made an old man very happy - excellent models by the way ;)

Been doing a bit on the 'pola'
Red a white deck painted,a complete pain to mask straight lines over all them lumps and bumps, bit of touch up itll be fine, hull red and black painted, just gotta run a bit of tape round the black then paint the the grey upper half.20220913_230430.jpg20220913_225605.jpg

What I've been doing instead of what I should have. Maintenance Company from left to right, HQ Pltn., Automotive Pltn. (minus a 6ton wrecker), & Maint. Pltn. (two sections @ 3/4 ton & 2 1/2 ton w/1 ton trlr.).

I don't know how you manage to create such a huge volume of work in such a short period of time. If I'm turning out One model a month ,I feel like I'm getting something done! Fantastic results!!:thumb2:

Hi everyone. The construction phase of the conversion of Dragon's 1/35 scale M7 Priest into the ones used by the Canadians on D Day, is now complete. Time to get on and do the paintwork. Happy modelling!
