What's on the Bench 2024

Just a quick build while I’m waiting for the GP to start…..
IMG_2082.jpeg
Took about three sessions. Lovely little kit, and, not knowing much about the subject I’m not overly worried about accuracy. There is another one in the pack that I’ll work through before paint.

Should bolster my “elite“ 21st panzer division German gaming army…..apparently it had over thirty of these on its books.
May go for very worn panzer grey, which this “might” be….

Allows me to use it for earlier periods if I so desire as well.

Another one finished for my mate and his 1/50 fairground collection

I'm not keen on the skylights myself so I haven't fixed them down. He can add them himself if he wants.

Fantastic scratch build job. The truck looks like it was purchased - like a diecast model. How did you get all the recesses in the plastic panels? Do you have a special tool for this?

Thanks to you both.

I scribed the lines using this set, which has different width blades:

To keep the lines straight I follow along some tape. Many types can be used but I've found this specific Dspiae tape to be better than anything else I've tried. It also has 1mm markings along it's length to help with keeping things equal or square and has a great adhesive that sticks well but can be removed & reused.

That tape looks good stuff Andy. Similar to the Dymo tape I use but better. Spending time on this forum sure costs me money!! :smiling:

'What's on the bench' - been so long since I have seen the bench... Still deciding on what is to follow the last build.

I couldn't get on with Dymo, it either wouldn't stick, or stuck too much! Maybe I got the wrong type.
Being clear I find the Dspiae easier to position too. I used less than a metre on this truck, so maybe 10-15 pence worth. More than worth it I think :smiling3:

Thanks Andy, now I know what to look for. :thumb2:

I don't think I've ever seen a Die-cast conversion before! Top work!

Are you sure that's your bench Wibble, I can't see your bath chair ;)

Bath chair in for its MOT, now sitting on the shooting stick... bit uncomfortable with that spike in the wrong place.... :surprised:

The SOMUA S35s are done awaiting bases.

Totally fictitious markings because I couldn’t find any pictures. 21st Panzer had around forty of these on their books in France, but there are pretty much no record of them being used in combat so I suspect they were used for training only. They’ll be good enough for gaming though.

Tim, they look fantastic!
Cheers Andi. Just a quick placeholder while I wait for the GB to start. Do like those S model kits though. Great fit and finish and enough crisp detail to look good under paint.

Once again it's another titanic this time it's the monster trumpeter 1/200 with all the bells and whistles including a wooden decking set it's an on off build in between other stuff but here is the progress so far.
