what would be a good model company to begin with on making models? i interested in ships mainly ships of the line (USS Consitution) and the like...im also interested in bi-planes and tri-planes of WW1...also what tools would i need to put it together? thanks! nita

For WWI aircraft, I think you should look at a firm called Roden for 1/48 scale, a good selection, normally good detail and shape but not always easiest to build.

If you are to larger scale 1/32 then you really need to look at wing-nuts wings. Not built one myself (yet). But all those I have seen have been superb.

What Ian said, but also for WW1 have a look at Eduard. I built one recently, and whilst it was a bit tricky, they build into nice models.

Hi Nita, In case you don't know about this one Revell do the USS Constitution, see link below.

Have a look at this website for Ship Kits, they are in England, but once you know which ship you want I am sure you will find a U.S. stockist. Good Luck. Cheers Derek
