Disgraceful.

As said in the article, years of work have been destroyed in moments. I really feel for those involved

Totally heartbreaking. I’m certain there’s nothing that will comfort the builders and contributors nor replace a lifetimes work.

My heart goes out to all involved with the exhibition at Stamford. I hope they catch who done it and are punished accordingly

Destruction of Model Railway Exhibition

Mindless drug inflicted morons, rest assured they WILL catch those who did this carnage,I agree with you Steve your title is so true,we create things of great beauty and as model builders we can relate to the work and dedication that went into those layouts but this kind of thing is just not acceptable.

That's crazy indeed, no words for it.
Total lack of respect, sick world...

YES I just herd from my friend about it they should punished an made to pay for all damage caused
chris

The ordinary, decent majority will never understand what induces such vile behaviour. My thoughts are with all those whose dedication and hard work was destroyed by these individuals.

Must be some really sick bastards to do such a thing!!! The poor club will never be the same...…..

Living in Stamford I heard of this quite soon, the good thing is the 4 idiots were arrested quite quickly. The alarm went off and the Police were soon at the school, including a dog unit.
How sad to see the photos.

Modellers turned up to the show only to told it was cancelled, years of work destroyed, and all the planning g that goes into these shows. Personally I hope the boys involved are named and shamed, and their parents are forced to pay for the damage by their :poop: off spring .
John .

Unfortunately there are some in the world who seem to resent the talent and dedication of others. I hope the poor victims can pick themselves up from this - can't imagine what they must be feeling.

Total a.holes.Feel sooooo sorry for the modellers.I love Railway layouts and know the time spent doing the wiring etc.
There are some total tossers around.
Richard

That’s particularly sad to see knowing the work people have put in.
Sadly this sort of mindless vandalism goes on everyday.....it’s why I don’t read the papers very often.

A very sad episode indeed, I read about it earlier on the BBC news website asthe show couldn't continue the club posted a crowd funding to cover the show expenses £500.00 within a few minutes they had raised over £17,000.00 which may go someway to repairing the damage.
Jim

What ashame I’m also a Model Railroader and I how much time and heart and soul are in these projects. I have 3 locomotives I paid $250.00 a piece for I can feel there pain. That’s today’s society in the world try to do something good and jerks like this has to mess it up for everyone

Hi all,
For those interested the crowd funding has at 0940 hours reached over £40,000.00, maybe this not only will help the club rebuild and restore but will also restore some faith in our fellow humans.
regards Jim

These are terribly sick people...even burglars have some respect for nice things...I mean they have an eye for the good stuff. I can only blame the parents and the situation the world is currently in. Nobody sees anything until the bad side of human nature exposes itself. Counselling would be useless unless these vandals are still very, very young which I doubt it.
I feel sad for the club members and builders...I build dioramas and know the time and execution to detail that these exhibits must have taken. The stigma of fearing to exhibit again for them will linger and hope it passes.

Richard

What gets me is that must have took some serious effort and time to do that amount of destruction.
It just makes me sick.

Overnight security for all exhibitions now? Insurance? The modern world.
