We've had a smattering of snow in London this morning, nothing too serious and appears to be melting.

Up here in Cumbria I've gritted all the pavements ('footways') round my house this afternoon. I do this every year when a cold snap arrives, telling myself that, when I'm too old to do it (I'm 66), someone younger will step into the breach and carry it forward.

It's not happened yet - although I have had younger adults thank me as they saunter past...

Well up here in t'norf its been a bit chilly.....not much snow mind... Went for walk round the river this morning...... Even the ducks are walking!.......... Been a long time since ive seen ice on the river

I've started following a YouTuber who lives in Yakutsk, Siberia. It's a blog about living there, it's the coldest town in the world. Winter temperatures average -48 degrees.

This past Monday Buffalo recorded it's highest wind gust of 79mph during the snow storm. During the Blizzard of 77 it was only 60mph but wind chill of -60F. 'Snowvember' 2014 lake effect storms over 5 days dropped 7 Feet of snow on the area. Winters seem much milder now. I remember my mom putting a tape on the kitchen window to show when we didn't have to go to school. It showed 20 inches. This was for overnight snowfalls only.

I wish I could post some winter views of where I live in Cornwall. But we don't got no snow. In fact, it was so warm today I almost didn't bother with a coat, but there was some mizzle in the air so I did. Mizzle you ask? Mizzle is mist and drizzle, a normal Cornish day.

I think we may have snow on the way.

Here's my back yard. More like 24 weeks to make any difference here.

I was sent home early from work last night due to the snow as the bosses were worried about us getting home if we stayed any longer

It was a nice excuse for some unscheduled bench time

We in Cornwall were hit by very high winds a day or so. I was staying at a friends house to make sure she was OK during the storm and there was also a power cut. I went home the next day to see if my house had survived the ninety mile an hour winds. I had. But my greenhouse didn't. This is how I found it.





My two compost bins decided to relocate too. They were empty so not held down.



My friends power is still not on, like 40,000 others in Cornall. I live 10 mins walk from her house and my power is on. Only a small part of my vilage is without power.
