Winter

The downfall seems to be slowing. 18" on the ground. Refreshed the Yorky's path and cleared the front walk for the Postman. I'll take some pics when I thaw out.

They have been warning of a snow storm here in Denmark for the last two days. AND dangerous weather! Well.... two hours in and we have hmm. 2cm snow. wow.
All us 'grown-ups' just call it a snowy shower and think back to the winters of the early 60's and early 70's.

I wouldn't say Cornwall was warm at the moment, but I didn't bother wearing a coat yesterday when I took a friend to Morrisons. Luckily, the rain I saw when standing at the checkout had stopped by the time we left the shop.
Ian M, your avatar reminds me of the time our 2lb (just under a kilo) Yorkie "attacked" my sisters Great Dane. The Dane's feet took a terrible mauling, not.

Remember it in 1977 as a sixteen year old. Didn’t like it much as I had to walk three miles to school, and then got sent home again…..
Especially when the summers of 76 and 77 were so hot!

I was 15 going on 16..... And dont remember my school closing :(

In the hot summer of ‘76 I remember the school letting us not wear blazers for the last two weeks of the school year, and even letting us off wearing ties for the last week…hedonism run wild 😂

Back in the 70s, when we lived in the three communities of Rancho Bernardo, Escondido, and San Marcos the yearly average temp and the yearly mean temp was the same, 73F. We had some low offshore clouds for a week or so in June, some rain in December or January, but otherwise you could copy the daily forecast for 10 months of the year. You could play in the snow at Mt. Palomar & body surf at LaJolla Shores the same day, but after 12 years the wife said enough. She missed Buffalo, NY seasons. I considered committing her, but was reminded of ....in sickness and in health....so after 6 years in Cambridge OH (plant closed), and a year in Atlanta GA (way too hot), we are in Dayton OH, just 400 mi. southwest of Buffalo where the weather was more moderate.

YES i was about 10 yrs old in 63 an yes i remember the big snow as we built an igloo
