WW2 SAS soldier with machine gun 1/10 bust

Thread owner
The gun has now had a wash over with thinned gloss black and the torso and head scarf have been shaded and highlighted . The bands round the headscarf are yet to be finished then its the sunglasses to do .
Ive given his eyes a bit of clear gloss and the head has been glued to the torso .
The excellent ammo belt has been given a nice shape by immersing it in very hot water for a minute or so then bending carefully to shape . This has now been painted and will make a huge difference to the finished piece ( thanks again Neil!) IMG_8799.webpIMG_8800.webpIMG_8801.webpIMG_8802.webpIMG_8803.webp

A final push today has seen this over the finish line . The headscarf was tidied up and the sunglasses were painted , this part then being glued onto the torso .I then looked at the fixing of the machine gun and decided it needed a strong joint so drilled this along with a corresponding hole in the palm and glued it with a pin made with a bit of guitar string .He has a hole between his fingers for a ciggie but you have to source this yourself so a tiny bit of wire was cut , roughed up at the end , painted then fitted.
The superb ammo belt was fitted to the gun and it was time to mount him on the base . I’ll put up a completed thread when Ive taken some more pics , thanks to all who have been watching . I know its far from the standard of most figure painters but I’m happy with it and enjoyed it so -job done .IMG_8804.webpIMG_8806.webpIMG_8807.webpIMG_8808.webpIMG_8805.webpIMG_8809.webpIMG_8810.webpIMG_8813.webpIMG_8815.webp

Nothing wrong with any of that Tony, in fact he and all his equipment looks realistic. Truly one to be very proud of. Will watch out for the completed thread with the finished photos.

Great to see some nice figure modelling.Im slowly starting to do figures again with some Dragon and Tamiya conversions.I will post some pictures soon and be good to get some interest as figures arent so popular.Im sure Neil M will join in
