Not my house as such but my office. I work in Hook, about 4 miles north of RAF Odiham and on J5 of the M3 so Chinooks are common as muck. As Hook is alongside the motorway and mainline to London helicopters regularly use them as navigation linear aids. Yesterday's treat was a two ship of Apaches flying low heading toward London
On the bench: Airfix 1/48 Sea King HC4, Revell 1/24 Trabant.
Coming soon: Airfix 1/72 Phantom FGR2.
Just finished: Airfix 1/48 Stuka & Airfix 1/72 Sea King HC4.

Not yesterday more like 1994/95 not even my house but my car . I was up in the Lake District on a back road to nowhere tooting along in my cavalier( vauxhall) sun roof open lovely summers day . When all of a sudden this almighty whoosh which made me jump out of my seat and every nut n bolt on the car vibrated not one but two Jaguars ( I think ) in very quick succession these two pilots in my mind had deliberately buzzed my car as if I had stood up and reached out of the sun roof I felt like I could have touched them funny think is they were upon before I heard them its something I will never forget. They did come back but not as low the second time a wonderful experience .

well from the 4th july until now 2 lynx HMA 8, 3 merlin , 2 sea king ( 1 royal navy , 1 search and rescue) 2 typhoons in formation and one strange looking helicopter with almost no sound from the rotors , I wouldn't have even seen it had I not been looking up and it caught my eye it was definitely military and was squat with straight lines instead of curves .

This flew over my place recently....Then came back and landed by our pond, it wandered around for a few minutes, then V.T.O. and away!

Until two years ago we lived in a black-an-white cottage in the depths of the country. For several years around 2005 we had about two or three Hercules flying very low and very slowly, almost scraping a huge beech tree nearby. They came from slightly different directions but always right over us. Quite spectacular. The Memsahib was convinced that they used our quite isolated cottage for drop-zone practice. We missed them when they stopped.

Hi gents, new to the forum live in Fairford, Glos, home of the Air Tattoo and 2013 was particularly impressive. My garden is within the airfield circuit so you can imagine the views! Most impressive were the Ducth F-16 and RAF Typhoon which both must use my house as a marker as they were turning fast and low-level directly above me. Fantastic views for a BBQ weekend!

Recently back into aircraft modelling and first up is 1/48 Hobbyboss Tornado IDS i think...

Enjoying the forum and finding lots of inspiration within.

This weekend they are holding the Annual Air show, this year from Rosklide which is about 10 miles up the road. After weeks of baking sun and hardly any wind, this week end it is peeing down with rain and gusty winds. I was looking forward to it but in this weather.....

They are flying. We cab hear them as the bank and climb. Cant see squat though due to the rather low clouds..

                      Bloody typical!

                        Hi Ian

I didn't go this year on account of the weather, but I hear that the Gustav had to take an unpowered belly-landing. Must have been nail-biting.

                        /Daniel

At about 12:30 today a C-130 flew over, quite low, heading North East, not a regular visitor round here. Didn't have time to get the camera so no photos, but must have been windy as he was "crabbing" don't know the right word, quite noticeably. Also he seemed to have his rear side doors open as there was a bulge on either side where the doors would be.

                              Tony.
