Mail Man dropped off these Revell Classics of last week. Last year I finished out my collection of these now I’m buying doubles to build. These will be built.

You beat me to it. This is the best way I found to cut steel wire cable, everything else frayed the ends. (I gave up on using steel cable for tow cables on models, though.)

I'm with you on this Jakko, I think it's almost impossible to get the correct 'lay' of the cable even if you turn them yourself; in general I don't think metal cables sit naturally on the model unless CA is used at strategic points.

Twisted copper wire works well, but even then you generally have to glue them down in some places (or have more patience to bend them just right, I suppose).

Rick. Yes I was a slave to Sleezbay last week on the “ Wingys” but like you there’s more on the way then I’m done. Well you know the story done for a while. Lol

Good choice! Excellent story telling! If you enjoy that may I suggest a limited reading list from my collection: Karl Marlantes 'Matterhorn'; Michael Sallah et al 'Tiger Force'; Bill Goshen's 'War Paint' and the slightly earlier 'Flags of our Fathers (James Bradley).

I built plenty of these as a kid Lee , always loved the ‘ frameable’ box art , what would look really nice is a big frame with about 9 of them in , sort of like when they frame cigarette card collections , cheers tony

It's a long time since I did a modern jet, and I have the 1/48 Revell Tornado & Typhoon in the stash, so.................

I don't have a Hawk ( yet! ), so I think an ebay hunt may be coming..........

Three Metal Modeles 54mm Napoleonpic figures. All in first class condition. Minimal packaging but superb sculpts and white metal castings. I’ll probably SBS these when I get around to them.....and that won’t be that long in coming for the first one, I’ve just got to clear the current projects first!

I have a collection of these figures by Bruno Leibovitz. They really are very nice castings and they paint up great. I trust you will blog them....
