Thinking off the wall, it looks like the cone is held in by a screw, so could the cone be replaced with a rubber doorstop of suitable shape?Comment

Bought this from Plaza Japan. About 2/3rds the price of UK sellers even with postage. I'm not sure whether they will be better/easier than my usual approach of cutting on a sheet of perspex. Delivery was timely. I like Tamiya tools generally but they are very pricey.
i would be interested to hear from anyone who has used these scissors.

I have those, but I don’t recall ever actually using them … Every time I remember I have them, when wanting to remove photoetched parts, I think they might bend the parts and so don’t use them. Maybe I should just try them on some spare parts sometimeComment

Mostly old or second-hand stuff, except the British accessory set. The AVRE is the Revell reissue of the Matchbox kit, but bot are really hard to find so quite pleased with that — even if the turret is very much too small. The Accurate Armour M10 I just thought would be fun to build (eventually …) and compare to a modern(ish) plastic kit of the same vehicle — it’s old enough that it has metal bogies, wheels and detail parts, when AA kits are all resin nowadays. And the Sd.Kfz. 7 is because as a long-term project, I have the foolhardy plan of building every vehicle that I can prove was used in my area during the war, and I recently came across a photo of two of these in somewhat derelict state right after the war.Comment

Same, and I still have the bridge parts aroundI also want to build one in 1:35 scale someday, as part of the same “used in my area” project … Or maybe the bridge separately from an AVRE with the winch gear, as that would be easier to stow somewhere
Not sure I want to open or build this one yet. For now it’s gone into my Matchbox stash.Comment

Been absent from here for a few weeks as life and work has totally drained my old can, but I did manage to find a few things I wanted from evilbay,
I want to compare this with the 2 Bronco kits I have in the stash. I also hope Didier at Azimut gets off his duff and finally gets his start ramp with launch trolley kit re-cast and in stock for them.
A big thanks to Ron (570) for the heads up on a nice digital camera with a good zoom. Snagged this for under €150,00, delivered from a girl in Bonn,
A Sony DSC-H400. It is like brand new with all the trimmings, packed in the original box and came with a Sony camera case too. I just wish our weather would clear up so I can go outside and play with it without getting soaking wet.....
I have a 2 things on the way and will post them when they get here. I have also been thinning out the stash as it is way out of control and I need room. I will never build half of it anyway......
Prost

Postie has delivered these
I ordered these on 16/5, delivered today 27/5 from HobbyEasy in Hong Kong.
Great service - but what is more remarkable is the price! Each model was £6.11! (OK it was a sale price )
Total for 2 models, including p&p was £19.26 .
They are typical Tamiya - a simple model, without a massive parts count, but as I've said elsewhere, 1/48 Japanese WWII aircraft aren't that commonly available

I must admit that I was a bit sceptical about the price - I'd seen them the day before, was undecided, then went for it the next day! I was expecting delivery to take a month or so, the tracking info had them on a plane somewhere, so it was a nice surprise when postie rang my doorbell....

Thanks for the info on the company.
I had seen them pop up on more than one search with good prices but was always a bit sceptical given that they are in Hong Kong.
