Odd that the lathe seems to have generated a bit of interest.
VDF Boehringer Lathe - this one for sale on ebay & in the right hands will still turn out precision work
We were told that we would be taught on old lathes - 'because most ships had vintage gear' & that is what you had to make do with! ( actually cheapskates wouldn't buy any new stuff! ). Most ships had modern lathes, pedestal drills, milling machines & even shapers - although those were invariably converted into heavy duty power saws....................

I was wondering how this one differs from their earlier two M3 light tank kits, but having just looked it up, those were initial production and this is early production. The difference is mainly that the turret is welded on this one, but riveted on the previous. IMHO that’s just doing a Hasegawa — what would be the objection against putting the parts for both turrets into one box?Comment
