So i was mooching round Hobbycraft today.....i was actually looking for wire used in jewelry making......but found these in the flower arranging bit

Its wire...180mm long.... 0.32mm diameter.....easy bent ......can see loads of uses such as antennas.....cut and bent into cables or grab handles......was £1.50 for about 100......comes in different gauges too

I have some very similar but unbranded wire, bought through ebay. Mine doesn't accept paint or glue very well so I have to strip away the coating

Those plastic lids off the containers that milk from supermarkets comes in. Make great little disposable dishes for all sorts of things.

Empty spice jars with all the little holes in the top make for very good paintbrush storage

• Empty washed out plastic tubs a curry comes in are great for storing stuff in
• Cheese cake plastic clear dividers make great windcreen material
• Mentioned before but water or milk bottle tops great for pouring enamel weathering products into. Recycle again, add tin foil and use for CA glue
• Old electrical or telephone wiring with casing removed
• Repurposed music stand for holding kit instructions
• Flower shops have loads of usefull stuff. The green blocks they used to display can be used for dioramas, certain dried flowers represent decent scale leaves
• assortment of tea leaves mixed into terrain layers give more texture to mud for AFV tracks and dio/vignette bases
• Halfords rattle can primers give good robust coverage if added in thin layers. Bit stinky but definately cheaper than hobby specific primers
• Large pizza sized multi compartment sweet containers with lids are fabulous for keeping stalled build sub assemblies in one place.
• Garden soil and small roots are great for natural looking terrain. Stick on old baking tray and stick in oven on high heat for a 30mins to get rid of any creepy crawlies
• Kids fine sandpit sand also great dio material
• B & Q kitchen rounded profile worktops make great work benches. (They will cut them to size in larger branches) Their adjustable legs are good too

I have to agree I use most of the things mentioned here.
